So, let's take a look at this a little bit closer here before we get back into this award
00:07
manual.
00:08
So, we know the teams with the buys as of last night would be Oregon, Texas, SMU, and
00:17
Boise State, which would then set you up for Penn State, Arizona State, Ohio State, and
00:22
Tennessee, Notre Dame, Alabama, which is a blockbuster game, and Georgia and Indiana
00:30
would be as of now.
00:32
The matchups for the college football playoff, I don't think any of those four will be the
00:40
same on Sunday.
00:43
I think it will change a little bit based on the winners and losers of the Texas-Georgia
00:50
game and the Oregon-Penn State game and how those shift slightly.
00:54
And obviously, if Arizona State loses to Iowa State and if Boise loses to UNLV.
00:58
Well, first of all, when I look at it, I can't believe that SMU is the three and a buy and
01:04
that Boise is a four and a buy.
01:07
That to me is just, that's the beginning of the problems you have with this whole thing.
01:12
Neither one of those teams, I am sorry, deserves to have a buy in this whole thing.
01:20
First of all, and nobody wants to hear it, but nobody gives a rat's ass about Boise State.
01:25
Second of all, nobody gives a rat's ass about SMU.
01:28
They bought their way into the ACC and you've got to be kidding, they're going to win it
01:33
and they're going to be the team with a buy?
01:36
I have seen it all.
01:37
And then, you know, Indiana get killed by Georgia, they're going to get killed.
01:44
But that doesn't mean for one second, one iota, that they don't deserve to be there.
01:49
Now, people are going to say they should have never been in there to begin with.
01:53
We've argued about this yesterday or Monday, whatever it is.
01:56
And I said, look, you go 11 and one, you lose at Columbus, but you were forced to kick Purdue's
02:03
ass and they did that at 66.
02:04
Now they deserve to be in there, 11 and one.
02:07
That's like telling me that Alabama deserves to be in at nine and three.
02:12
If you're going to argue with me about a team that's 11 and one, shut the F up.
02:16
But they will get their ass beat.
02:18
Show me those other games.
02:19
I want to see those other games.
02:21
Again, like in franchise.
02:24
Yeah.
02:25
Notre Dame, Alabama and Penn State and Arizona State were the other games that were up there.
02:31
And Ohio State, Tennessee.
02:32
Notre Dame's going to win.
02:33
Penn State will beat Arizona State.
02:35
I think Arizona State's a great story and they'll be lucky if they beat Iowa State this
02:41
week.
02:42
Although, I will say, I think they can beat Iowa State.
02:46
Doing it is another story.
02:47
And then Ohio State, Tennessee, obviously Ohio State will be at home, which will be
02:53
an advantage for them.
02:55
But we saw them with their big advantage last Saturday against Michigan, a five win, a five
03:01
loss team that beat their ass.
03:03
Frankly, if you ask me, they beat their ass.
03:05
They controlled them the whole day and they beat them 13, 10 in their building.
03:09
So if Michigan can do it, Tennessee can do it.
03:12
Yeah.
03:13
Well, yeah, this is obviously the first year that they're doing this.
03:15
This is the first year we've gone to 12 teams.
03:18
We like that they've gone to 12, but they have some things that they're going to need
03:22
to fix going forward.
03:24
And one of those was the first thing you brought up.
03:27
I think that you should guarantee getting into the tournament to those five conference
03:34
champions.
03:35
I do not think that you should guarantee buys for all of the conference champions.
03:41
I think that you're setting yourself up to now.
03:44
I mean, I've seen people make this point.
03:46
I kind of made it to yesterday.
03:47
You know, if you're the five seed, you conceivably have an easier road to get to the semis and
03:54
the final than the one seed.
03:55
And even though you got to play an extra game, you're playing easier games along the way
04:00
to get there.
04:01
I think they need to just give the buys to whoever the four highest seeds are.
04:07
And if that means it's three Big Ten teams or two Big Ten teams or two SEC teams or however,
04:13
it is what it is.
04:15
I think that that's kind of how they have to do things.
04:18
I don't like the automatic buys.
04:21
They should get rid of the, frankly, the people that make the decisions.
04:25
I think they're doing a terrible job of this.
04:29
They have botched this thing.
04:31
There isn't one person that hasn't been complaining about it.
04:34
Even the people that have the automatic bids, they're all complaining about their buy or
04:40
where they're playing or when they're playing.
04:43
These guys in the Crack Crab and Lobster Committee, I think, have done a terrible job of butchering
04:49
this thing already with the Alabama decision, which is so fixed, it's not even funny.
04:55
So for my money, those same people should be replaced.
05:00
Why don't we get some people in there that are fair to Midland, that are neutral, and
05:05
that aren't biased?
05:07
Like look at these people that are on this committee.
05:09
They're all like these powerful people from the SEC and the Big Ten making the decisions.
05:15
Why don't they bring in people that are completely oblivious to any of that, that just love football?
05:21
I mean, I'd even have, you know, I'd have respect if it was some sort of semblance of
05:28
people from the media that matter, that know their college football.
05:33
Like are you telling me that Jerry Palm couldn't do a better job than these losers that they
05:39
have doing it now?
05:41
These old men, losers that are completely biased and on the take and fixed?
05:45
I guarantee you think politicians are bad, accepting bribes and taking money since the
05:51
beginning of time?
05:52
What do you think these guys are doing?
05:55
I mean, this guy, these guys, Manuel, the rest of them, they remind me of Bob Melendez,
06:00
Gold Bar Bob.
06:02
These are the guys making the decisions in college football.
06:05
The whole thing's corrupt.
06:08
And then let's not call them out.
06:10
They're corrupt.
06:11
They are dirty.
06:12
I don't care what anybody says.
06:14
Like just the fact that they are doing this and I look, I could give a rat's ass Miami.
06:20
I even said earlier this week, they don't deserve to be in it.
06:23
But when I saw Alabama jumped down with three losses and the two losses they had at Vandy
06:27
and Oklahoma over the two, five and four point losses that Miami had, that's all I need to
06:33
know that it's corrupt.
06:35
Here it is.
06:36
I know you've been waiting for it.
06:37
This is him explaining why Alabama is ahead of Miami and in that last spot instead of
06:43
them.
06:44
This is from ESPN last night.
06:45
What it came down to is that we evaluated both teams and looked at how they rank.
06:51
Obviously we think highly of both teams, one's at 11, one's at 12, but what it really came
06:55
down to is Alabama is three and one against current top 25 teams and Miami is all in one.
07:04
Alabama is six and one against teams above 500 and Miami's four and two.
07:10
Both have had some losses that weren't what they wanted out of those games.
07:17
But in the last three games, Miami has lost two twice.
07:23
And so for us, in evaluating their body of work, we felt that Alabama got the edge over
07:30
Miami.
07:31
Well the body of work is complete for Alabama, for Miami, for Ole Miss, for South Carolina.
07:36
There's one more ranking to do.
07:38
Well where's Reese?
07:39
What could change?
07:40
Could it change?
07:41
Is it set?
07:42
Yes, it could change.
07:45
It all depends on the outcome of these games.
07:47
Oh, he's a foolish Jack, this guy.
07:51
I mean, whatever.
07:52
I'm done.
07:53
I'm done with it.
07:54
I don't even want to talk about it anymore.
07:55
I'm going to have a stroke.
08:02
It can make you very upset, especially if one of your teams is involved.
08:05
And even if it's not one of your teams, it makes you scratch your head.
08:07
Of all things that this year came down to, my team is taking it in the arse.
08:12
At the end of the day, Cam Ward was a Heisman finalist.
08:16
The Miami offense is awesome.
08:19
Alabama can lose by 21 at Oklahoma, but they don't even evaluate that at all.
08:24
It's like a bad day that didn't count.
08:25
It's like saying yesterday didn't happen.
08:28
Monday and Tuesday didn't count because Wednesday was so beautiful.
08:33
It's just the most ridiculous reasoning I've ever listened to.
08:36
And then at the end of the day, the five-time national champs get just shafted because they
08:42
lost by five and lost by four to really good teams and really good quarterbacks.
08:47
I evaluate things based on losses, not on wins.
08:51
Not on wins.
08:52
Like I even said, they barely beat Cal, they came back from 35 down, so they don't deserve
08:57
anything.
08:58
I told you they didn't deserve to be in the playoff.
09:00
It's not that.
09:02
It's who they put in instead.
09:03
They put in everyone's favorite puppy, the cute little adorable Alabama Crimson Tide,
09:08
no matter what.
09:09
Honest to Christ, they could effing lose seven games and they would still be in this goddamn
09:14
playoff.
09:15
And you know it.
09:16
They would still be in the playoff if they lost seven games.
09:20
They'd find a way to get them in.
09:21
They'd find a way.
09:23
It's unbelievable.
