00:00Education Secretary Sonny Angara has called on financial institutions to implement a moratorium

00:05on loan payments for teachers and debt-bed employees affected by recent typhoons.

00:10In a letter, Secretary Angara requested a three-month suspension of loan payments for

00:15debt-bed employees in areas under a state of calamity. Payment will start in April 2025.

00:22He also asked for a moratorium for all debt-bed personnel in December,

00:26with payments resuming in January 2025. Angara further urged the GSIS to provide

00:32similar consideration and coordinated with the Banco Central ng Pilipinas

00:37to ensure the loans are not classified as non-performing.
