Leeds recommends where to walk and what to watch this winter

Leeds passers-by reveal their favourite winter walks and recommendations for what to watch this Christmas.

00:04Anywhere, anywhere, the Dales, you can just go within five minutes of Leeds, Harrogate, York,

00:13you've got beautiful countryside, family walks, rivers, it's absolutely stunning.

00:20I think film-wise, all old Christmas films.

00:24Yeah, The Holiday, I love The Holiday.

00:26That's my favourite Christmas film.

00:27That's a really good film.

00:28Walks, it's not necessarily Leeds, but there's a place called New Miller Dam near Leeds,

00:34they do really nice walks.

00:35It's a good spot in Micklefield, it's basically a big walk through some wind turbines,

00:41but it's a nice walk, you can take the dogs and things like that.

00:44I actually named one of the windmills with my primary school.

00:48I'll give it a shout out, Mickey Blades.

00:49Mickey Blades, that's the spot.

00:50We're watching The Jackal at the moment, which is absolutely incredible, it's an amazing series.

00:55But Christmas-y-wise, the usual Christmas Suspects, I think, is the one to watch.

01:02And walks, we love Yorkshire, we love walking in the countryside,

01:06from up now, near around Hudsfield where we are, to the Yorkshire Dales, you can't go wrong.

01:14One thing I'd say is go to Haworth, I went with Alison Coates, my friend,

01:17so a week ago, so go to Haworth.

01:20Get to the cinemas to see Gladiator 2, which is apparently very, very good indeed.

01:25And then we've just watched the series Reacher and Netflix after some books,

01:32so that was okay to watch.

01:34But get yourself to York on the city walls where we live near,

01:38and that's a wonderful place.

01:39Leeds is wonderful, but York is too.

01:41My favourite place in Leeds, Kirkgate Market,

01:45Leeds Arena, and Leeds Quarter, and Leeds Victoria.

01:48Home Alone, it's every year, it's a classic.

01:51No, I'm going to have to put my two cents in there, Elf.

01:54Elf is another good Elf.

01:56Go in the ring as well, after Christmas.

01:57After Christmas, yeah, that's going in the bin.
