Hello, Miriam at the Bureau with your national weather forecast for tomorrow,
00:03
Saturday the 23rd of November, with a snapshot look ahead at Sunday's weather as well.
00:09
Now tomorrow's weather map first of all shows areas of cloud,
00:12
showers and storms extending from northwestern parts of the country
00:16
through central Australia and down into the southeast.
00:19
Now some areas may see moderate to locally heavy falls with this system moving through,
00:24
but it will also help to flush out some of that heat
00:27
that's currently sitting across southeastern parts of Australia.
00:30
Elsewhere across the country tomorrow, Queensland is looking at a few coastal showers,
00:34
with showers and storms ongoing across parts of northern Australia as well.
00:38
Drier weather is on the way for the far southwest.
00:42
Let's take a state-by-state look at all of that now, starting with Queensland.
00:46
Now showers across eastern parts of the state tomorrow,
00:50
as well as in the north, with the risk of a few storms through northern and inland parts too.
00:54
Moderate falls are once again a risk about the north tropical coast,
00:57
but they're less likely further in the southeast.
01:00
Brisbane is looking at a shower or two tomorrow, with a top of 27 degrees.
01:04
For New South Wales, morning fogs are possible about the northeast coast,
01:09
and then we're going to see a few showers spilling down into the Northern Rivers District
01:12
throughout the day. Elsewhere though, it'll be hot and dry,
01:15
with severe heatwave conditions about the south coast.
01:18
Sydney is heading for a sunny top of 28 degrees tomorrow.
01:21
Canberra is looking at sunny conditions and a top of 32.
01:25
For Victoria, hot, humid and partly cloudy conditions across our Saturday.
01:30
Severe heatwaves ongoing through east Gippsland,
01:32
and extreme fire dangers across the Mallee and Wimmera in the northwest.
01:37
Fire weather warnings will be issued.
01:38
Melbourne is looking at an overnight minimum tonight of just 25 degrees,
01:42
so it will be a very hot night, before a very hot day tomorrow with a top of 37.
01:48
But the cool change is on the way. We can see it moving into western Victoria here,
01:53
bringing showers, possible thunderstorms,
01:55
and some moderate rainfall for the Wimmera and southwest in particular.
01:58
But it is going to bring about some cooler weather for the later part of the weekend too,
02:02
and it's likely to reach Melbourne late afternoon or early evening tomorrow.
02:07
For Tasmania, partly cloudy, warm and humid across the state,
02:11
with a few showers developing as this trough moves through later on.
02:14
For Hobart, we are looking at a late shower or two, with a top of 29 degrees.
02:19
Hot, cloudy across South Australia, with showers and storms possible in most areas,
02:24
except the far northeast.
02:26
Now, moderate falls are possible across southeastern parts of the state,
02:30
possibly heavy with thunderstorms during the day,
02:33
between around Oodnadatta and the Flinders Ranges.
02:36
Adelaide is looking at a few showers on the way tomorrow, with a top of 29 degrees.
02:42
In Western Australia, showers and thunderstorms are once again possible
02:47
across northern and inland parts of the state,
02:49
with the risk of heavy falls or damaging winds about the northern interior.
02:54
Sunnier and more settled across southern parts of the state, however,
02:57
Perth is looking at a sunny top of 29 degrees tomorrow.
03:01
Across the Northern Territory, scattered showers and storms will build,
03:05
with the chance of some moderate rainfall totals where those storms move overhead.
03:09
It will be quite humid in the north as well, particularly around Darwin,
03:12
we are looking at a humid top of 32 degrees tomorrow,
03:16
showers and a possible storm on the forecast.
03:18
Now a quick look ahead at Sunday, we are likely to see the cloud,
03:22
rain areas, showers and storms continuing across central parts of the country,
03:27
extending from the far north through Central Australia and into the southeast.
03:31
Moderate to heavy rainfall totals are once again a risk through Central Australia
03:35
and northern parts of South Australia.
03:37
We're going to see the heat starting to contract into New South Wales and Queensland,
03:41
but a milder day is on the way for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
03:47
Meanwhile in the west we are going to see the risk of some gusty thunderstorms developing,
03:51
as a new west coast trough starts to develop.
03:54
Now you can find the detailed forecast for your area via the Bureau's website,
03:58
the BOM Weather app or via our social media.
04:00
Have a good day and we'll catch you next time.
