00:00Now time for a look at tonight's weather forecast with Josette.
00:05Thanks Nisha. Good evening Trinidad and Tobago. It's Thursday and boy did it feel like the sun
00:11was out to prove a point today. We are just one sleep away to the weekend but before you start
00:16planning that Friday night out let's talk about what's in store for tonight and for tomorrow.
00:21So let's talk about today. Across Trinidad and Tobago the sun was definitely out in full force.
00:27Along the east-west corridor we did have some overcast skies but honestly they didn't really
00:32do much. They were just passing by like very uninvited unwanted guests. Temperatures well
00:38they weren't shy. We had a sizzling 33 degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago so if you
00:45felt like the asphalt was trying to cook you, you are definitely not alone. As for tonight don't
00:50expect much of a cool down. It's going to be another warm one. Lows will hit 24 degrees Celsius
00:55in Trinidad and 26 over in Tobago. Perfect weather to step on something icy or binge your favorite
01:02series or complain about the heat which we all do so well. Now on to tomorrow. If you're hoping for a
01:08break from the heat I am so sorry to disappoint. It's going to be another cloudy day with some very
01:14partly cloudy intervals. Temperatures are looking to be 33 degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 31 in
01:19Tobago but that heat index will have us feeling more like it's 39. It's looking like a relatively
01:26sunny day but if you get the odd shower don't be surprised just be ready for the sun to put in some
01:31serious overtime and don't forget your sunscreen. Now if you're looking if you're planning for an
01:37early start tomorrow maybe a jog, market run or just watching the sunrise the sun will be up at
01:43604 in Trinidad and 602 in Tobago and for those of you counting down to the weekend sunsets
01:49you can expect it to dip at 539 in Trinidad and 536 in Tobago. For our sea lovers out there whether
01:56you're fishing, breaking beach, heading down the islands here's what's happening offshore.
02:01Seas are expected to be moderate with waves in open waters to be between 1.5 to 2 meters in height
02:07but a gentler one meter in sheltered areas. It's looking like a decent day to clock out early but
02:13as always keep it safe and watch those tides. Speaking of tides here's a look at our tide times.
02:20Meanwhile across the Atlantic, Germany is still dealing with the complete opposite of our weather.
02:35Severe storms have cancelled over 40 flights at Frankfurt International Airport today.
02:41The German meteorological department has issued a level 3 severe weather warning
02:46with powerful winds and freezing conditions. Planes are also having to be de-iced.
02:50It makes you appreciate our heat at least just a little bit.
02:54And so there you have it another warm night ahead, a bright start to Friday and a weekend in sight.
02:59Stay hydrated, stay cool and maybe keep an eye on your TNTEC bill if that fan or AC is
03:04putting in the extra work tonight.
