00:00Time for a look at tonight's weather forecast with Josette.
00:04Thanks, Disha. Good evening Trinidad and Tobago. I hope you're all having a wonderful Wednesday so
00:09far. If you're not, tomorrow is Thursday and we're just one step closer to the weekend.
00:14Now, let's get into the weather. Today was definitely on the warm side, a welcome change
00:19after all of that rain that we've been getting recently. We saw highs of 33 degrees Celsius in
00:24Trinidad and 31 in Tobago, with that heat index feeling a bit closer to 40. If you're like me,
00:31you're probably sipping on some water all day long trying to stay cool. While we had some sunshine,
00:36we also had a few showers pop up here and there, nothing too heavy, but just enough to keep us on
00:41our toes. It looks like this mix of warm weather and occasional rain is going to be the trend for
00:46the rest of November. So, expect some more warm conditions with some moderate to heavy rainfall,
00:51especially in the latter half of the month. Looking ahead into tonight, expect a few light
00:56to moderate showers. Temperatures will drop a bit with lows around 24 degrees Celsius in Trinidad
01:02and also 26 in Tobago. So, it's not going to be too hot, but it's still going to be warm,
01:07so you might want to keep the fan on high. Tomorrow is shaping up to be another mixed day,
01:13fair periods with a few light to moderate showers here and there. Some of those showers could
01:18actually get a bit heavy or even thundery, particularly in the west and hilly areas,
01:23so if you're in those parts, keep an eye on the skies because gusty winds, street flooding,
01:27and ponding is still a possibility. In spite of this, temperatures are expected to be 33 degrees
01:32Celsius in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago. For my early risers, here's your heads up. Tomorrow,
01:38you'll be able to catch that sunrise at 6.04 in Trinidad and 6.02 in Tobago. The sun is going to
01:45be dipping a bit early at 5.59 in Trinidad and 5.36 in Tobago. If you're heading out on the sea
01:52or looking to break beach, know that seas are moderate, so do exercise some caution out there.
01:58Waves are looking to be roughly 1.5 to 2 meters in open waters,
02:02but a gentler 1 meter in sheltered areas. Now, here's a look at our tide times.
02:22Now, before we wrap up, let's quickly touch on the situation internationally. Our thoughts go
02:27out to those affected by severe weather in Washington. The region is currently being
02:32battered by something called a bomb cyclone, which has caused some deadly conditions.
02:37For those who aren't too familiar, a bomb cyclone happens when the storm's central
02:41pressure drops rapidly. It intensifies the storm, bringing dangerously high winds,
02:46heavy rainfall, and even some snow. Sadly, two women in the Seattle area lost their lives after
02:52being struck by falling trees, and others were injured as high winds continue to cause chaos.
02:57Nearly half a million homes and businesses in Washington state have been left without power,
03:02and more rain, flooding, and snow is expected in the coming days. Now, before ending today's
03:08weather, I wanted to take the time to extend a special shout out to all the little ones out
03:13there today. Today is International Children's Day. It's their time to shine, so let's give
03:18them a little extra love today. Stay safe Trinidad and Tobago, keep hydrated, stay dry,
03:23and be sure to keep an eye on those skies.
