Back for El Coast to Coast, here on a Wednesday and you know what that means, it's a golf
00:06
Wednesday on C2C, really for the final time in 2024 on the PGA Tour.
00:12
This is their last event, the RSM Classic down Sea Island, Georgia.
00:19
And as always, the Prime Minister, Cam Stewart, is with us to get ready for this week's event.
00:26
Cam, it has been a long and winding road this year for us here on Golf Wednesdays.
00:33
And we have finally made it to the end.
00:35
You know how this goes for this event.
00:38
We have got Sea Island where you get actually a lot more, I used to want to say regulars
00:44
in this because all these guys live down there and they end up playing this event.
00:49
You also have Ludwig Obert here because he won last year, first time that he's playing
00:54
since getting that knee clean up, little surgery that he had.
00:58
But this is always a fun tournament to kind of end the year, Cam.
01:01
Oh, it's beautiful.
01:02
And these courses are awesome, Carver.
01:05
I wish we had one more week, then I realized, hey, it's Thanksgiving.
01:07
So the PGA Tour gets it right.
01:10
Let's just end this thing, have Thanksgiving and I'll see you in Hawaii after Christmas.
01:14
Smart guys, rich guys, but this tournament is awesome.
01:18
You need to strike the ball well, Carver, and it's beautiful for scenery as well.
01:21
This is actually a very underrated tournament.
01:24
And remember, different format here because you have two courses.
01:27
You have the Seaside, you have the Plantation.
01:29
They'll play on both courses on Thursday and Friday.
01:32
And then the Seaside will be where they play Saturday and Sunday for the winter.
01:36
So almost something, Cam, we see a lot in January and February when they go out west
01:41
and we get the Amexes and things like that where we're playing a whole bunch of different
01:46
courses.
01:47
All right, we got, as far as the chalk goes, like I said, Obert's here and man, 9-1 for
01:53
this guy.
01:54
And he's just far and away from everybody else.
01:57
How could you bet him when he hasn't played a competitive round since getting that surgery?
02:03
Davis Thompson, Dangerous, Denny McCarthy, Brian Harmon, of course, from down there.
02:07
You have Siwoo Kim, Maverick McNeely, Matty Wallace, Harry English from down there.
02:12
So as we mentioned, Cam, lots of guys from the area who make their home down there that
02:17
are going to play.
02:18
And they know this course very, very well.
02:22
So make sure that you, both courses, I mean, they know the whole joint very well.
02:26
So make sure that you put that into your calculations.
02:30
I will get us going as usual, Cam.
02:32
Here's where I'm going this week.
02:33
And we have, I can't quit this guy because I know if I don't play him this week, he'll
02:39
win.
02:40
So it's felt like he's been close the entire swing season.
02:44
I'm going to take one more swing with Bermuda Ben Griffin at 35-1 this week.
02:50
Eric Cole, one of the better, hey, I mean, I think I'm getting one of the better players
02:55
in this field at 40-1.
02:57
That seems pretty good to me.
02:58
And I feel the same way about another Georgia Bulldog, Sepp Straka, at 50-1 this week, which
03:04
I think is a good price for a multi-time winner on the PGA Tour against this field.
03:09
Adam Hadwin at 75-1.
03:11
And BurgerTime, Etta Hundo, probably not the best of the field.
03:16
But you know what?
03:17
BurgerTime is, I feel like he's starting to get it going, Cam.
03:21
I just feel like we can get ourselves a little BurgerTime.
03:22
That's a great price.
03:23
In my book, he was like 80.
03:24
So if you can find 100 on Burger, I think it's almost a must bet.
03:27
We have the same guys, Carver.
03:28
I'm starting off with Ben Griffin as well.
03:31
I got 32.
03:32
I didn't get that number.
03:33
Know who loves this area?
03:35
J.T. Poston.
03:36
People forget about the Postman.
03:37
He knocks twice.
03:38
Hopefully, he can get it done for me.
03:40
Dangerous Denny McCarthy, this is a perfect track for him.
03:44
He putts well.
03:45
If he could just finally like get stiff it and go, because his putting is amazing.
03:48
I love him this week.
03:49
Cole, he's an addiction that I have to get off.
03:52
And Chandler Phillips razor products.
03:55
What is it?
03:56
Phillips Norelco there?
03:57
I do need a shave.
03:58
At 90 to 1, I'll take a shot with Phillips.
04:01
Don't burn me with a razor.
04:03
Don't cut me.
04:04
Come on, buddy.
04:05
I'll probably end up joining you on McCarthy, Cam, just because he's another guy that I've
04:11
bet him a billion times.
04:13
And this, of course, will be the week that he wins if I don't bet him.
04:16
So especially in a field like this.
04:19
So I'll probably get involved with McCarthy by the time I put the head on the pillow tonight.
04:24
All right.
04:25
The placements for me.
04:26
I am going to mix in a couple Georgia guys down here to Harry English, T-10 at plus 330
04:32
to play well this week.
04:34
Mac Hughes, of course, Canadian top 10, great swing season player at plus 360 for him.
04:40
Captain Kirk, Chris Kirk, top 10 at plus 400.
04:44
Matt Wallace, good to me on the other side of the pond.
04:47
Maybe you'd be good to me here too.
04:50
Top 20 at plus a buck 50.
04:51
Lucas Glover, top 20 at plus 180.
04:53
And I hate myself, but I know this guy's like almost like the mayor of this place down here.
04:57
So Webb Simpson for a T-20 at plus 320.
05:01
Carver, I don't know.
05:03
We're reading each other's mail.
05:05
Hopefully no seconds and thirds like in Europe, but I'm going to go with Davis Thompson's
05:08
water seal.
05:09
I like him to also win the tournament.
05:10
I don't like 20 or 22 to one.
05:12
That's not good enough for me.
05:14
Plus 190.
05:15
The Georgia Bulldog Harmon.
05:16
You got Kirk.
05:17
I got Harmon plus 275.
05:18
We're on the same guys.
05:19
Harris English for a top 20 plus 145.
05:22
Matt Wallace playing some of the best golf of his life.
05:25
Plus 150.
05:26
Got to go with a Canadian as prime minister.
05:28
Mackenzie Hughes loves this track.
05:30
Nice and easy.
05:31
Keep it in play.
05:32
Let's roll.
05:33
And Lucas Glover, great ball striker.
05:34
Top 20 plus 175.
05:36
Man, we're on a lot of the same dudes.
05:38
We got Glover.
05:39
We got Wallace.
05:40
We got Harry English.
05:41
We do got a bunch of guys on our placements.
05:43
So hopefully, and Matt Hughes as well.
05:45
We got a bunch of guys that hopefully we can make some noise with.
05:48
All right.
05:49
First round leaders.
05:50
Remember, two separate courses Thursday and Friday.
05:53
So here's what I have on Thursday.
05:55
Seaside course for me.
05:56
Wow.
05:57
Svenson 35 to one.
05:58
Mark put the Hubbard in the cupboard at 40.
06:00
And Ken Norlander, Henry at 60 to one on the seaside course on the plantation side.
06:07
Captain Kirk at 30 to one.
06:10
I will take Brendan, the Todd father at 50 to one.
06:13
And then I will go, how about this for old time's sake, and Stuart Sink on the plantation
06:19
side at 65 to one on that course to go and get it done.
06:24
Who do you got me for first round?
06:26
However, I'm going to tell you, Stuart Sink may actually finish top 10 or 20 in this tournament.
06:29
I'm thinking about adding him because he's such a price.
06:31
Chris Kirk, same as you.
06:32
Captain Kirk.
06:33
Oh my God.
06:34
What do we got here?
06:35
Georgia Bulldogs.
06:36
I love it.
06:37
Who else do I got?
06:38
Kirk at the plantation.
06:39
Bridgman.
06:40
Mel Bridgman, former Philadelphia Flyer, New Jersey Devil.
06:42
And Sam Ryder's on the storm.
06:45
He's 45 to one.
06:47
Seaside.
06:48
Eckrode.
06:49
I need a fisherman's friend.
06:50
Love Eckrode.
06:51
He won a couple of weeks ago.
06:52
Fishburn.
06:53
Put some fish on the grill.
06:54
Hopefully salmon.
06:55
Good for you.
06:56
And what else do we got here?
06:57
Hubbard in the cupboard.
06:58
Same guy.
06:59
Carver.
07:00
Let's roll with Mark Hubbard playing good golf.
07:01
Cam, if there's a week for us here, let's, we have had such a good year on golf Wednesdays.
07:07
Let's close.
07:08
We got a lot of the same guys this week.
07:10
Let's close it out in a huge way.
07:13
Sam Stewart, the Prime Minister.
07:14
Golf Wednesdays are coast to coast.
