00:00celebration happening at two schools in Port of Spain at St. Mary's College and
00:05Queen's Royal College as they mark 100 years of being part of the Trinidad and
00:08Tobago Cadet Force. During a ceremony on Tuesday past students from both schools
00:14who served in the Cadet Force between 1910 and 2010 were celebrated. One of the
00:20organizers says the idea of how to honor these men came during a visit to another
00:25school. I went to school in Success Laventille, Success Laventille
00:33Secondary School. The principal Miss Bass said why don't you do a photo mural?
00:38Today what we would like to do is to unveil these two photo murals to you.
00:49These photo murals that you see here would be installed one at Queen's Royal
00:56College on the walls there and another one at St. Mary's College and the idea
01:03is that when students look at these things it would be very inspirational
01:10and given the situation that we are in with youth and youth development I think
01:19it would play an important role. Coming on International Men's Day officials
01:23said based on those honored in the murals it shows the Cadet Force has
01:28produced men who personified statesmanship, dedication to duty and
01:33perseverance in the face of adversity. On the 1st of May 2025 the Trinidad and
01:41Tobago Cadet Force will celebrate 115 years of existence making it the oldest
01:50youth organization in Trinidad and Tobago. This legacy began with the
01:56establishment of a platoon at each at QRC and CIC. I could tell this history
02:05lesson a bit so that some in the room would would remember when this all
02:11started. We have lived it. We are the products of this legacy. The Trinidad and
02:20Tobago Cadet Corps was always destined for greatness.
