00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this bitterly cold Wednesday
00:05morning. Warnings remain in force through this morning for snow and ice, northern
00:09Scotland where we continue to see a rash of snow showers moving inland, further
00:14accumulations likely. This feature here brings rain sleet and snow towards the
00:18southeast of Scotland running down the east coast, a relentless wind and further
00:22wintry showers turning to snow inland across Northern Ireland and then slowly
00:26gliding down towards Irish sea coast as well as Wales. A few showers also down
00:31towards the West Country, they're mainly of rain. Now it's cold inland but some
00:36crystal-clear sunshine, it's a bright day but wrap-up warm if you are out and
00:41about. And then through the day we continue to see a rash of these showers
00:46towards the north, a cold wind coming in from a northerly direction, the Arctic
00:51air continues to affect us and those snow showers tend to become more
00:54scattered across Northern Ireland as we head through the latter part of the day.
00:58At the same time temperatures struggling wherever you are and across the snow
01:02fields of Scotland barely getting above freezing, remaining below across many
01:06places. So as we head through Wednesday evening and overnight the cloud will
01:10slowly thicken from the southwest. Now this feature here is mostly rain, a
01:14stronger wind but as it encounters the cold air there could be some sleet and
01:18snow on its northern edge. At the same time a severe frost across many areas
01:23and the winds turn around to more of a northwesterly through Thursday, so more
01:27snow showers towards the western side of Scotland, rain and sleet along the
01:31coastline there. In between some sunshine coming through although any
01:34sunshine hazy across the Midlands as well as Wales. Here's your outlook
01:38through Friday, after a very frosty start temperatures yet again well below
01:43freezing, we'll see some lovely sunshine but also some wintry showers in the mix
01:47towards the west. And those lighter winds will be replaced by stronger winds, gales
01:53as this deep area of low pressure moves in. It's rain but on its northern edge
01:57there could be some snow so there's likely to be some disruptive weather as
02:01we head through the weekend. Obviously we'll keep you posted here on all our
02:04social media channels, however if you are heading out on Saturday afternoon this
02:09is your outlook. Heavy rain, strong winds, temperatures recovering in the south but
02:14still cold in the north. I'll see you later.
