00:00Hello, there. Good morning. Welcome to your latest Met Obvious forecast. It's an unsettled
00:05start to the second half of the weekend, low pressure dominating and bumping into cold
00:10air. So, we've seen heavy snow overnight across central and northern parts of the U.K., in
00:14particular, icy stretches. This low pressure system slowly moving away into the beginning
00:19of next week. But cold air remains in place with further wintry showers and icy stretches
00:24across the country. An unsettled start, outbreaks of heavy snow, particularly across northern
00:29England, some disruption likely. So, do take care if you are heading out. Some freezing
00:33rain still possible across parts of Wales as well and further north icy stretches to
00:40start the day. And little changes through the day. We see further outbreaks of rain,
00:44sleet and snow for parts of southern and eastern Scotland, northern England down into Wales
00:49as we head through the day. Something a little drier and brighter to the south of this weather
00:54front, but breezy with some heavy showers moving in. Trying to turn a little brighter
00:58this afternoon as well across the far northwest of Northern Ireland into the Highlands with
01:03some wintry showers, icy stretches remaining here as well. And temperatures barely above
01:09freezing across the northern half of the U.K., really struggling particularly across northern
01:13England, southern Scotland under the heavy snow, but milder across central southern parts
01:18of England and Wales. Here, southerly winds allowing temperatures to rise around 13 or
01:2314 Celsius. But the risk of flooding as snow melts and heavy rain continues to move in,
01:28particularly across parts of Wales. And this band of rain pushes its way eastwards as we
01:32head through this evening into the early hours. Colder air digging south though, so the back
01:37edge of this rain may start to turn to snow over the higher ground once more. Elsewhere,
01:41icy stretches reforming, still the risk of wintry showers, particularly across the north
01:46of the U.K. and temperatures low single figures below freezing in the countryside, particularly
01:51across Scotland, minus 5 or 6 to start Monday morning. Icy stretches, this weather system
01:57in the southeast just pulling away slowly through the morning into the afternoon, the
02:01risk of some snow for a short time over the higher ground and then a brighter day for
02:05many sunny spells and wintry showers. Showers most frequent and heaviest across northern
02:11parts of Scotland, some icy stretches remaining and then temperatures falling away quite quickly
02:16once more as we head into the evening time. Maximum temperatures generally for many 4
02:22to 8 Celsius, so feeling colder again across southern counties after a mild day ahead today.
02:28So there is a lot still going on with our weather at the moment, particularly with heavy
02:32snow across northern England. Do stay tuned as we move through the day with the latest
02:37updates. See you again soon.
