00:00I'm Selena Gomez and I'm a woman in Hollywood.
00:03The first time I saw myself in a character was on Barney and Friends.
00:08I was seven years old and it was very weird.
00:11And I got made fun of a lot in school because I was in fourth grade on Barney.
00:15But hey, look at where I'm at now.
00:19The first woman in the industry I would say that influenced me in a way would be Jennifer Aniston.
00:27She was one of the first few women in Hollywood that I had really met.
00:31Jennifer always gives me advice on personal stuff or even just like dealing with all the craziness.
00:38Sometimes this town can get lonely so it's nice to have people to look up to.
00:42A Hollywood moment that still amazes me?
00:46I will never forget when Meryl Streep walked in on set for all my murders in the building.
00:52I couldn't breathe for the first two minutes but she was unbelievably disarming and so lovely.
01:00That was one of the first moments I realized that I was in company of someone with grace and class and so much talent.
01:08So I felt like a sponge and I wanted to absorb all of her knowledge and just become someone I look up to.
01:16Advice I would give myself when I was first starting out was,
01:20Are you sure? Are you sure? Because I was so young.
01:24But I loved it and I guess I would say to myself,
01:28Don't worry about what other people think and stay authentic to yourself.
01:33The most difficult lesson I've learned in my career is to never doubt myself.
01:39I think that I've prevented myself from getting opportunities and parts because I wasn't confident enough in what I'm able to do and what I'm capable of doing.
01:50So I've learned to really just try to trust my instincts and just perform as much as I can with the best of my ability.
01:59The future of Hollywood is when?
