00:00Well, I think I love this franchise.
00:02I have seen Bhool Bhoolaiya 1 and Bhool Bhoolaiya 2.
00:06And I love both the movies.
00:08And in a chance meeting with Aneez Bhai,
00:12I told him how much I loved the movie.
00:15In January this year, they approached me.
00:17And he said that he had something in mind for me.
00:20And on a script sunaya, and I heard the script,
00:23and I liked it because it allowed
00:26me to do something different from all the roles
00:29that I've done so far.
00:31And I thought it would be exciting to be
00:34part of this universe, the horror comedy universe.
00:38Well, once you hear the script, sometimes you
00:42see the character in your mind.
00:45And of course, the director is always there to guide you
00:47if you're doing anything a little out of the box.
00:51But I've always thought of the role.
00:52And whenever I hear the script, I
00:55start imagining what my character will be like.
00:59And so we just went with the imagination.
01:01And I thought this scene can be played this way
01:04or that can be played that way.
01:06But the kind of things I did, I think I've never done before.
01:10So I was very, very happy with the role.
01:12Well, it was wonderful.
01:14Karthik is a very, very hardworking actor.
01:19He always is trying to give his best with every shot.
01:24And Vidya, I have always admired as an actor.
01:28And it was great fun working with her
01:30because we got along very well.
01:32And we were feeding off each other's energies.
01:36And I thought that both of us together looked really nice.
01:42And the rest of the cast, all the actors
01:48are such good actors.
01:51And they have created such a niche for themselves
01:55in this industry.
01:56And when I worked with them, it was amazing.
01:59It was just amazing.
02:00See, the original Bulbulaiya was more of a psychological drama.
02:06Vidya was fantastic in that.
02:09I call her the OG Manjulika because she's
02:13the one who started this Ami Jai Tumar.
02:16She made that song so popular because of the way she acted
02:20and the way she danced in it.
02:23I used to love the song.
02:25And when I had heard the song for the first time,
02:28I said, it's such a nice song.
02:30Maybe I can do it one day, just thinking, you know?
02:35And when this role came to me and Vidya was part of it
02:39and Karthik was part of it, I was like, yes,
02:44this is something I would love to be part of.
02:46Of course, the role had to be good.
02:47And I liked my role in the film.
02:49So I did it.
02:50I think the climax of the movie was amazing.
02:53And it's a climax that nobody had even guessed or imagined.
02:58And I think that just made the movie happen.
03:01Now, I think Bulbulaiya 3 was very
03:03different from Bulbulaiya 2.
03:05It was a different story, different timeline.
03:08Everything was different about it.
03:10So it's not like it's a lack of imagination.
03:13It's just that this is that genre.
03:16So when you say part 1, part 2, part 3,
03:18it means people go in expecting.
03:21They know what to expect, right?
03:23It's a horror comedy genre.
03:25So they know when they go to see Bulbulaiya 3.
03:29After Bulbulaiya 2, they know what
03:30to expect, that it's going to be horror,
03:33and it's going to be comedy, and it's
03:34going to be a little bit of romance and everything.
03:37So I guess it just gives people an idea of what it is.
03:41Yeah, I think it was genuinely scary.
03:42Of course, they had to keep in mind
03:44that they have little kids also as the audience.
03:47So you can't be too scary.
03:50Because they wanted family audience for this movie.
03:53So they kept that in mind, and they kept true to their genre.
03:56It was frightening also, and yet it was something
04:00that people could sit through.
04:02I think it had all the drama, all the different emotions.
04:07In fact, instead of being like a horror ending,
04:11it's a very emotional end in Bulbulaiya.
04:15And it touches you.
04:17It really touches you, I think.
04:19I've been in the industry for 40 years now.
04:22And I think it has been a very interesting journey.
04:26It has been a very happy journey.
04:28I've enjoyed every minute of it.
04:31And I think I was fortunate that I
04:33got to work with the best of directors,
04:36with the best of roles, best choreographers, best songs.
04:40I think I was very fortunate that my journey has
04:44been so awesome for me and inspiring for others.
04:49Well, I think it hasn't peaked yet.
04:51I'm just trying to do new roles, trying
04:54to discover more of my abilities as an actor.
04:59And I think I would give the credit to my fans, my audience,
05:05who have always supported me, loved me
05:09through all the years, my directors, who
05:13I've learned so much from, the other actors who also I've
05:17learned so much from, my choreographers.
05:21I think I would say a big thank you to all of them.
05:25Well, the thing is that you have to keep challenging yourself.
05:29You have to keep thinking out of the box.
05:31You have to go with times.
05:33Like, social media is so much powerful today.
05:38And I'm also a part of it.
05:42I love Insta.
05:43I love doing reels.
05:44And I'm on Twitter.
05:46And I'm in touch with my fans, in touch with the youth.
05:51And when I do a film like that, like A Bool Boola Yatri,
05:55I think I even earn more audience.
05:57The younger audience also sees me.
06:00And I am trying to win them over as well.
06:03Well, there's so many questions in one.
06:07Well, I've always kept in touch with dancing
06:11because I was on dance reality shows.
06:13So I used to dance in those shows.
06:16I do shows, like Bollywood shows.
06:19Or I did a few shows with Shah Rukh called The Temptations.
06:23I did Unforgettables.
06:25So I keep performing.
06:26And when you perform, you have to practice.
06:28You have to rehearse.
06:29And you keep in touch with your art that way.
06:32I practice my dancing.
06:34I practice Kathak.
06:36So that's how I keep my energy.
06:39I keep that thing going for me, the stamina and everything.
06:44Apart from that, of course, workouts are very important.
06:47What you eat is very important.
06:50And I try to eat as healthy as possible.
06:53Yeah, I have a few cheat days here and there,
06:55in which I like to cheat and eat some rubbish also.
06:58But moderation is very important.
07:01And keeping up consistency is very important.
07:06So these are the important things to me.
07:08It's up to them.
07:09My older son, Arun, he was interested in drama.
07:15That was one of his high-level subjects with math and physics.
07:20He is a very good musician.
07:21He loves playing the piano, the tabla, the guitar.
07:26He loves to sing.
07:28But who knows what the future holds for him?
07:32Whatever, I think I want them to do
07:35what they're passionate about.
07:37And I would always stand by whatever he decides to do.
07:41Well, it depends what they are doing
07:43and what kind of films they will be making
07:46and whether they would want to work.
07:51Of course, if the opportunity arises,
07:54and who would not want to work with them?
07:58Well, there are a few in the works right now
08:00and some very, very exciting things for me.
08:03But I will let you know as soon as the plans are finalized.
08:07They know what message I'll give them is thank you very much.
08:11Thank you for always supporting me, loving me,
08:13and keep watching my movies.
08:14Love you, too.
