00:00Thank you for having me.
00:15I think I was in Fifth Standard and I remember that I was, I started taking part in dramatics, you know, as the show opener in school and everyone was really proud.
00:29And they were all praises for me.
00:31And then I realized that, and of course, that's how it started.
00:37I loved Sheila's childhood and Katrina and it.
00:40And I was like, I want to do this.
00:41I want to be here.
00:43And my dad was like, no, no, no ways.
00:45He was very against it, you know, because he didn't really like the industry.
00:48And my mom was very supportive at that time.
00:51And dad said, phase is going to go, but it doesn't mean it's not going to go.
00:55So then they both are very supportive now and I'm very grateful.
00:58But that's how my dream came to life.
01:02Very filmpy.
01:10So we were actually in a shoot, a shoot of Ferns and Petals.
01:14It was happening at home.
01:15So, you know, the director said, actually, I don't want to go to the shoots, but this was the first shoot.
01:21I thought I'll come and I'm so happy I came because I found my Gita.
01:24And, you know, he just began with the narration and he said, I want to narrate this to you.
01:29You know, I'm all heart for you and I want to take you for this.
01:33And I'm so grateful that I got such a lovely character like Gita's because it's such a lovely story.
01:38You know,
01:39And I'm very happy to be a part of it.
01:43But this is what you call hard work in destiny that, you know, the director just had to come for the Ferns and Petals shoot.
01:50He had to see me and had to say that I'm his Gita and then audition me and take me.
01:54I think both industries are very beautiful in their own ways.
02:07But of course, South case, if I think shooting timings may difference.
02:11Like, for example, the shoots I'm doing right now and what I've done before in South,
02:16they start at 6 a.m. and they wrap up pretty early by 6 p.m.
02:19So, you get that rest also, you know, wherein you're very fresh for the next day to shoot well.
02:24So, I think that's the only difference for now.
02:26And of course, storytelling.
02:28I don't know why or how, but yeah, content is definitely lacking, like good content.
02:45And I think the opportunities given to actors are very less.
02:49They should give, you know, actors more opportunities because
02:52You can't do that.
02:57If you want talent and you want your industry to change, you have to change something about it.
03:02About, you know, you have to change something about it.
03:05Either the actors or maybe both the actors and the storytelling
03:09and change something that can really, really change the industry
03:12and make Bollywood get back to what it was.
03:15As a newcomer, I think it's a part and parcel of the journey and of the industry
03:34that auditions will always come and go, but it's about really bagging the right role.
03:39And it's about keeping yourself out there in a very strong manner
03:46and being authentic to yourself and to everyone around you.
03:50And just being yourself.
03:51I think that's what, you know, makes the difference and matters the most.
03:55It's not difficult at all.
04:07It's very refreshing.
04:08I'm very happy that, you know, I could get into the regional world
04:11and explore something more than just Bollywood.
04:14And of course, I'm very happy also because
04:17of course, of course, to get an opportunity when
04:22Tollywood is working in Tollywood itself is a huge thing.
04:25So I'm very grateful that, you know, I bagged such a role
04:28and I got the movie Love Your Father.
04:30Very thankful to the team for choosing me and believing in me.
04:35And learning the language was super easy
04:37because I was a mugger back in school.
04:39And, you know, I'm a quick learner not to be blowing my own trumpet,
04:41but I think that's just who I am and how I am.
04:44So I loved exploring and learning a new language.
04:47I like something that's challenging.
04:49I like playing challenging roles, characters.
04:52So yeah, I'm always open to all of that.
04:54I think C, both have to adjust somewhere or the other
05:21because since you're talking in context to the recent controversy,
05:25I'd say Deepika is right her way.
05:27And I feel, of course, because now she has a baby.
05:31So to work for lesser hours is okay.
05:33It's convenient for her.
05:35And if she can do justice to the director and the team
05:38and the production and give her performance in that much time
05:41and give her best, then I think it's not a problem.
05:43But they have to adjust because, come on,
05:45she's reached to that level today.
05:47And she has a family to look after.
05:49She has to come home and, you know, look after her baby
05:52and take care of, of course, her family too.
05:55So I think it's okay.
05:56Sometimes you just have to adjust.
05:57You can't make everything a big deal.
06:04See, to be honest, I feel that if a director,
06:10today, I don't, I mean, obviously,
06:12I'm going to get married many years down the line, not now.
06:15So I'm ready to work even if I have to for more than 12 hours,
06:19like more than 13, 14 hours, right?
06:21Which is normal because 12 is the normal,
06:23but 13, 14 working as someone who's still thriving,
06:26who's still getting there is normal.
06:27It's okay.
06:28And I'd love to satisfy the directors,
06:30the production team and do what they want out of me
06:33because they are paying me that amount.
06:36They have chosen me.
06:37They believed in me and I have to do justice to them as well.
06:40So I would love to even work extra hours if I have to,
06:42to make our movie a super duper hit.
06:44That's how I feel.
06:46But yeah.
06:46See, there's always two sides to a coin and I think it's also positive and negative.
06:58See, there's always two sides to a coin and I think it's also positive and negative.
07:12It's very toxic, very consuming,
07:13but at the same time it helps you push your work.
07:15So it should not be overused a certain way.
07:18But I feel, yeah, actors should not be chosen, you know, depending on their follower count.
07:23I don't think that makes sense.
07:25I think talent should count.
07:27You know, the way they really are able to relate to the audience and connect to them
07:32is what should matter the most.
07:34Followers come, followers go.
07:36Social media comes, social media goes.
07:38Tomorrow there'll be a bigger app than an Instagram or anything.
07:40But I think it's, these are all like knee jerks.
07:43They are like very temporary, very short-lived.
07:45But what is really long lasting is your performance.
07:49It's your acting, it's your talent.
07:50So audition the actor if you have any doubts, you know,
07:53see their performance and then choose them accordingly.
07:56Not on their followers for sure.
07:57To be honest, I'm very moody.
08:02Like there are days when I post a lot and then there are days when I go to break and I'm like, I'm done.
08:08So work related, yes.
08:10But otherwise, no, because I feel like that's not me and I don't want to get consumed by social media.
08:16I'm using it for my work.
08:17Yes.
08:18You know, I'm just using it as an added advantage.
08:21But otherwise, no, it's not important to be honest.
08:24Yes, it's helping you push your work, but you can't get consumed.
08:27That's toxic.
08:28So, yeah.
08:30Story.
08:38Content, character.
08:39And even if the star cast and directors knew, it's okay.
08:42Tomorrow he can still make his first super duper hit fun.
08:46Everyone reaches chapter 20 from chapter 1.
08:48You can't say that, no, I want to work with the biggest director.
08:51You'll get that too.
08:51You'll get that when you reach maybe chapter 5, chapter 6.
08:54But to begin with, chapter 1 has to click.
08:57So I think to believe in your story and in the director's vision and in yourself.
09:02I think Ranveer Singh, I love his aura.
09:13I loved him in Band Baja Bharat.
09:15He was very authentic and very, very natural and so free as an actor.
09:19And I think directors, there are so many.
09:23There's Sukumar, sir.
09:24There's Sanjaleela Bhansali, sir.
09:26There's SS Rajamowli, sir.
09:29There's Imtiaz Ali, sir.
09:31There's so many wonderful people I want to work with.
09:32And so many more.
09:33Even those I haven't mentioned.
09:34But yeah, definitely.
09:35They're very disciplined.
09:51So what do you want to do in Bollywood?
09:53What do you want to do in Bollywood?
09:55Do you want to do the timing?
09:57No, I think, see, that's the beauty of Bollywood.
10:00That they work over time because they want to remove something that beautiful, which is okay.
10:04It's fine because they want to get it out to the audiences.
10:07But I feel each of them have their own beauty.
10:10Bollywood's beautiful its own way.
10:12Tollywood is beautiful in its own way.
10:15So everyone's got their own beauty.
10:17Every industry has its own beauty.
10:19There's nothing like this.
10:20But the only thing, like I said, in South, the hours are different as compared to Bollywood.
10:25Both are doing some great work.
10:26But yes, there are certain things Bollywood needs to work on in order to, you know, progress.
10:36So I do have lots in the pipeline.
10:38But I can't really reveal much because I've been asked to keep it under wraps.
10:42But you'll know soon there are some huge announcements coming.
10:45And we're actually done shooting most of it, most of these films.
10:48So I'm really excited.
10:49I'm looking forward.
10:51And yeah, that's about it.
10:53Thank you so much, guys, for showering so much love upon me, always.
10:59And I promise to always love you.
