00:09From the first film till now, you have been doing Raka, so what do you think about it?
00:13What is your experience about it?
00:15The journey is very interesting for me.
00:19I started my career in Delhi as part of the Dramatic Society of Lady Shiram College for Women.
00:26Today I am in Mumbai and I am doing full-time acting.
00:29So the journey is very satisfying to work with directors like Imtiaz Ali right at the beginning of my journey
00:39to Ashwani Ayur Tiwari, Anubhav Sina and most recently Rahul Pandey and now Atlee Sir.
00:47I think it's, it feels ki, ma'amne, jho, hamesha, chaaha tha ki ma'i yaha pa'i pa'unch

01:10Um, dekhiye mein aise dekhti hoong is idea of Pan India actor in a very different way, I think.
01:18I feel ki, khud actor nahi decide karta ki aap ek Pan Indian actor ya star hoote ho, audience decide
01:26karta hai.
01:27Um, I think most important chize ye hai ki, jho aap story choose kar rahe hai, jho script choose kar
01:34rahe hai,
01:35it creates an impact that transcends geographical borders and languages.
01:41So, if that allows you to then become a pan-Indian star or pan-Indian actor, then great.
01:46And I feel like, again, it's up to the audience to take you to that point of being a pan
01:51-Indian star.
01:52South cinema has recently made its strong identity on national level.
01:56What does South cinema look like compared to Bollywood or Hindi cinema?
02:03I think the beauty of the South industry is that they stay very connected to their cultural fabric and their
02:12roots.
02:15They show their cultural fabric so beautifully in their films and their scripts
02:20that they attract people from their cinema.
02:25So I think that's their beauty, that they're so authentically themselves.
02:29and great writing and great scripts.
02:34You recently did Raka's part.
02:37So what are you most excited about this film?
02:41I think that's my excitement now.

03:18It's very special when you're working with talented and impactful actors.
03:25I've been blessed that in my journey,
03:28I've worked with a lot of manjewek alakaro.
03:33Right from my very, very beginning, that was Ranbir Kapoor.
03:38Cut to, you know, the viral Ravi Kishan Sir currently.
03:42I've got to learn so much.
03:45Of course, in Raka as well, it's such a fantastic star cast of wonderful, inspiring actors.
03:52So I always feel that when you work with interesting actors,
03:58there's a different level of challenge.
04:01And that challenge, project, and character,
04:04your whole experience is very enriching.
04:09So that's how I feel about working with such a banging star cast.
04:13As you said, Ranbir Kapoor, Ayushwan, Khurana,
04:16and Tafsi Banu Lassa actors, you've worked with your work.
04:19Yes.
04:19So, with Ravi Kishan Ji,
04:22Ravi Kishan Ji, what do you do on-set?
04:25What do you do with such a chill-out?
04:27As you told me,
04:32with every actor,
04:34with every actor,
04:35the way that I've worked with,
04:38from the beginning of my career,
04:41I've always learned something about that,
04:44whether it's Therav,
04:47Ranbir has this unwavering Therav about him,
04:51Ayushwan has spontaneity,
04:53Tafsi has this fearless, powerful quality,
04:57And Ravi Kishan, he is so funny in real life. Ravi sir, there is a lot of humor in the
05:08set. And I feel like it's been a little bit viral, but it's not a thing.
05:15Because what they say, what they do, it's so enjoyable and entertaining that they have to be viral.
05:27He's just such a funny, funny man. And I think that energy and that youthful spunk comes into his work,
05:34which is very inspiring to see.
05:52Like I said, I feel that when you work with interesting actors in a set, you have a feeling that
06:01you are attending a master class.
06:03Because every day, every scene, you get to learn something new with each other.
06:09And I am very blessed that I have got a chance to work with such great, impactful colors.
06:20And hopefully, I will get a chance to get. And I am very blessed that I am working with such
06:25fine actors.
06:39I think a mix of everything. When I look back at my filmography,
06:45I would like to feel that I have something different with each character and project.
06:52And I feel that for me, there will be a pat on the back or an achievement feeling that when
07:00I look back,
07:01if I look back at my filmography, I feel that I have explored different characters and different languages and geographical
07:10touch points.
07:14My work has been transcended. So, I just want to be evolving with each and every project that I do.
07:22So, a variety of different things.
07:25In the industry, how do you work with success? How do you change your definition?
07:31That's an interesting question because I feel that obviously, when you just start out,
07:36the meaning of success is very different.
07:41I am from Delhi, so for me, you know, having a home in Mumbai, having a car,
07:49everything defines a different level of success.
07:54But now, of course, after doing as much of work as I have done,
07:59I feel success to me is coming back home feeling satisfied.
08:03that what I have done for 12 hours in the set,
08:06that I have given up to 100% of my work.
08:09And the audience that I like the work that I have done,
08:13that is a definition of success for me.
08:16So, I feel like now it's kind of transformed into self-gratification and self-love as well.
08:25That every day, whatever I work, I feel that I have felt that I have done 12 hours well spent.
08:37Anaila Ji, one thing that is very important in the industry,
08:40is that you should live in social media.
08:42How do you live in social media?
08:44And how do you live in social media?
08:46How do you need to live in social media?
08:49Social media is a reality in today's day and age.
08:54I feel like it's a mix.
08:56Because today, everyone says,
08:59do this on social media, do that on social media.
09:02You should do it,
09:03but I feel like you should listen to what you want to do.
09:08It's become a very commercially driven space as well.
09:13People are monetizing obviously from Instagram and all of that.
09:17now as well.
09:18Which is fine.
09:19But I feel like I would still like,
09:21for me, I would like Instagram to essentially be a place where I show,
09:26to show bits and pieces of my life rather than just to kind of monetize from the platform.
09:34So, it's a mixed bag for me, Instagram.
09:55I feel like this is a reality.
09:59It's a reality.
09:59But the serious directors who give their script the most important importance,
10:08will never sign up on the numbers.
10:13They will only sign their work and potential.
10:16they will sign up on social media.
10:18So, at the end of the day, if you are a strong performer,
10:21regardless of whether you are also an influencer or a social media star,
10:27I feel like that's not the main point.
10:32I feel your performance and the work you bring to the table will finally get you your work.
10:39And,
10:41this will all come.
10:43Social media,
10:44Instagram will be there tomorrow.
10:46But,
10:48acting will never go.
10:50If your acting is solid,
10:53you will get your work.
10:54How do you affect your social media trolls?
10:56How do you affect those trolls?
10:58And,
10:59what do you find these trolls?
11:03About me,
11:05I do not affect that much.
11:07I feel...
11:10that the people who need to be so important,
11:15it is not good for your own quality.
11:18You only work closely.
11:22And,
11:22like I said that people will always come.
11:24Today there will be Instagram trolls, tomorrow there will be something else, but your work and your focus will change.
11:33I will not say anything about future projects, but I can say that I want to explore some exciting avenues
11:48in terms of the characters that I play and
11:53the various different universes that I get into. So you will see me in a very exciting space.
12:02Naila Ji, we are seeing that in OTT there were a lot of films in women-centric films.
12:07But in the 90s, there was a lot of films in the 90s that there was a lot of films
12:10in the 90s.
12:11There were a lot of films in Lajja and other films in women-centric films,
12:16which are now very little.
12:18Do you think that in OTT there will be a woman-centric film that will become a woman-centric film?
12:24Do you want to do something like that?
12:25Yes, definitely. I feel that as an individual, I am very driven by women-centric issues.
12:34And I definitely want to do something like that. I want to do something like women's issues and explore it.
12:48Because I feel that a slight decline has come in the past few years.
12:58I was very fortunate to be a part of a movie like Thappad and I feel like Taapsee Pannu has
13:03done a lot of films like that.
13:05She has one more film coming out on, I believe Netflix, which deals with child trafficking and the importance of
13:16bringing these women's issues to the forefront.
13:19And I would definitely want to be a part of films that drive this idea home because women have a
13:27responsibility to further other women.
13:29And if we don't do that, then who will for us?
13:32And if we talk about numbers, I feel like that shouldn't and can't stop this because these issues are so
13:42important that we shouldn't be limited by,
13:46oh, who's a male star in it. I feel like women should lead this and I would love to be
13:51a part of this world.
13:57Yeah.
14:24I think in many different capacities
14:28as you said, Rani Mukherjee, ma'am, has done some really impactful female-centric roles.
14:37Tapsi is very inspiring because I've worked with her closely
14:40and when I worked with her, I realized that she is so strong, fearless and powerful in reality.
14:50So that was a very inspiring performance and inspiring individual and actor.
14:57I also saw a movie, Babita Singh, Reporting.
15:02And there's a wonderful actor, I don't know if I'm pronouncing her name correctly,
15:10but I think it's Nimish Shah.
15:13I think she's a Malayali actress.
15:15And it's a Hindi film, but she's done such a strong performance as a cop.
15:22She's soft, but also strong.
15:25And I think that's the power of portraying these interesting roles and characters
15:33in a variety of different ways.
15:41And I think she portrayed that really well.
15:46So there are a lot of actors, definitely.
15:48Rani Mukherjee, Tapsi Pannu, Deepika Padukone and Chhapak was very impactful.
15:57There are many, there are many, many actors.
15:59And I feel each and every actress has been able to portray these roles so interestingly.
16:06And then recently this film that I saw, which was Babita Singh, Reporting, that I really enjoyed.
16:10So yes.
16:12Lastly, what message should you give to your fans?
16:15And one more thing should you give to you is that in the future,
16:20if you have any roles like a gangster or a lady gangster or something like that,
16:26then you'll be able to pull it out or you'll be able to get it out of the way?
16:29No, definitely.
16:31If I feel story inspiring and I feel that the script, the story, the characters,
16:37the whole universe is something that's exciting me, then I will definitely do it.
16:41Because for me, again, the script is always the most important and then everything else follows.
16:47So I will definitely touch it in a second if I feel that it's a very exciting role.
17:06So I see it in that way and hopefully to all my fans, they'll keep supporting me.
17:14They'll keep loving the work I'm doing.
17:17And I promise to keep doing the best work that I can possibly do
17:22and keep you all excited.
