00:00The existence of a royal addendum purportedly ordering Najib Razak to serve the rest of
00:06his prison sentence under house arrest is only hearsay, says Home Minister Saifuddin
00:11Nasution Ismail.
00:13Saifuddin pointed to the Kuala Lumpur High Court's dismissal of the former Prime Minister's
00:17legal action to affirm the addendum's existence in July.
00:21When the defendants brought it and the court then considered that this addendum was a hearsay,
00:28that was clearly the court's decision.
00:33The court said that this story was obtained from Sipolan, Sipolan heard from Sipolan,
00:37Sipolan obtained from Sipolan.
00:39That means hearsay.
00:40So it's over there.
00:42I don't want to go further than that.
00:44Najib, who was found guilty of misappropriating RM42 million in funds belonging to one MDB
00:50subsidiary, SRC International, is currently serving his sentence in Kajang Prison.
00:55The Federal Territories Pardons Board had halved Najib's prison sentence from 12 years
01:00to 6 and reduced his fine from RM210 million to RM50 million.
01:05In a leave application filed in April, Najib claimed that the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong
01:10had issued a supplementary decree during an FTPP meeting on January 29th, purportedly
01:15allowing Najib to serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest.
01:20Najib alleged the supplementary decree was not announced by the board on February 2nd
01:24and that the government was in contempt for not executing it.
