00:11Then when Agong replaced it, it was handed over to the state palace because Agong was in charge.

00:26The royal addendum allowing Najib Razak to serve the remainder of his jail sentence under house arrest

00:33was sent back to Istana Negara after Yang Dipetuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim ascended the throne.

00:40This is what Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said today, adding that the addendum, issued on January 29th last year,

00:48was first sent to then-Attorney General Ahmad Teri Rudin Saleh.

00:53Anwar clarified that the letter was not sent to him or members of the federal territories' pardons board.

01:00Instead, he said the AG submitted the addendum to Istana Negara after the new king ascended the throne.

01:09Anwar said the AG did so because the Agong presides over meetings of the pardons board.

01:15On Monday, Najib obtained leave to begin judicial review proceedings to compel the government to place him under house arrest.
