00:17Organizers say the clinic started in time for Diwali, but it's scheduled to run for two weeks

00:27Patients who are in urgent need of cataract surgery, but lack the necessary resources to access it

00:35Our mission is clear

00:36We intend to meet all surgery related needs for these patients at no cost to them or their families

00:44The only requirements will be the arrangement for transportation to and from the surgery sites even in 2024

00:51There are patients who are debilitated by reversible visual impairment

00:56Today we have

00:58Lessened that number by six and by next week. We hope to reduce number by 14

01:03I remember when I first started screening patients about six weeks ago one lady said to me

01:10You need to call me a minimum of three times. So

01:16So I was I wasn't sure why she would ask us to do that

01:21She said I oftentimes

01:23Can hear the phone, but I cannot find the phone right next to me

01:30And this highlighted to me the need for this program

01:35Organizers say they have limited funding and while they have had or while they have surgery scheduled for 18 patients

01:43They're hoping they can provide a gift of sight for as much as 30 patients

01:47Those patients who had surgeries done were left singing the praises of the program
