00:00Former Member of Parliament Fuad Khan says there are too many issues affecting the citizens of TNT
00:07and one of those issues is a lack of job opportunities for young people.
00:11I've seen a lot of young people with a lot of degrees, innovative minds, etc.
00:17who have gotten scholarships and have nowhere to go, nowhere to drop their jaji bundle, nowhere.
00:23And this whole system of Trinidad and Tobago right now is under a certain sort of backward behaviour
00:30such as euphorics and investment into Trinidad and Tobago, putting young people into certain specific areas
00:38where they got scholarships for.
00:40And I realise that the systems in Trinidad and Tobago are no longer that of futuristic
00:46but are basically past systems.
00:49Dr Khan says he is at a stage in his life where he is ready to give up his profession
00:54and focus more on the betterment of TNT.
00:57He said his goal right now is to help provide job opportunities for young people, stating it is time for change.
01:04I think differently, I think out of the box, I can make a difference again.
01:09I may not have been able to articulate it better before because I was much younger and more into other things
01:15but I think the time has come for me to give that experience to the country.
01:19And the only vehicle I can get on is the UNC because that is my party.
01:23The former MP for Barataria, San Juan, says his relationship with the opposition leader is very much an existing one
01:30and he is willing to serve in any way that the opposition leader would determine.
01:34I haven't had verbal discussions but I've had, as they say, written discussions.
01:39Basically, if I think something needs to be approached, I write, email and get replies.
01:46So, we do have a relationship. We've never had a bad relationship.
01:50Ms Pasabi's sister and myself have gone back since 1995 together.
01:54Dr Khan says the reason he pulled out of politics five years ago is because he was a bit disenchanted and tired
02:02as he found it a bit difficult to juggle his business and politics.
02:07But five years later, he's ready to jump back into the political arena.
