00:00Trinidad and Tobago are plenty talented people, you know, it's just the facilities, I find
00:08the whole music industry in Trinidad is a selfish kind of music industry because you
00:16don't see nobody bringing up nobody or nobody in trying to endorse nobody and bring them
00:22up to the platform, the youths and them real fighting up.
00:26Mr Joseph makes reference to Vybz Kartel and him passing the baton to the youth.
00:32I think the veterans need to pass the baton and assist in pushing the youth.
00:38That is why I say, because when you watch the Jamaican culture, for instance, Bounty
00:42Killer bring out Vybz Kartel, Vybz Kartel bring out a whole army, look he's still standing
00:47right now and everybody in Jamaica respect him because you know what, he take to the
00:52platform and decide to help people, you understand, because it has so much talent, look Popcorn
00:58come from under Vybz Kartel, look where Popcorn is today, you understand, so the elders in
01:04the soca industry need to endorse the youths some more.
01:09He is calling on the radio stations in this country to play more soca music.
01:14Radio stations in Trinidad and Tobago need to start to support the culture some more
01:19as well because, I can't understand, I'm from Trinidad and Tobago but when I put on
01:24the radio, our dancehall music, a Jamaican come down Trinidad the other day and he said
01:31boy went down Trinidad and I swear in Jamaica when you put on the radio, it's only dancehall,
01:39dancehall, we culture is soca.
01:41Trinidad Killer says he has observed over the years that multiple soca releases are
01:47not played by our local radio stations.
01:50Plenty artists has been letting go music all through the year and they don't be hearing
01:54it on the radio because why, the DJs and them choose to play what they want to play on the
02:00radio station, you know, when radio station was nice, when you had it to work from the
02:05system, yeah, they had a system and they put on the songs and all DJs had to play from
02:10there but now a DJ can bring his laptop so he play where he want to play and where he
02:15feel to play.
02:16He tells us there is a new version of soca music in the US.
02:21In New York, right now to tell you the truth, since I've been living in New York, I know
02:26they have a new thing here called bouillon, bouillon soca, that's taking over the place
02:34right now.
02:34When I go to the parties in Trinidad, in America, out here in New York, I just hardly hear
02:43Trinidad soca, I just hear more like the older heads, you know, but like the new soca
02:50you do hear it because why, bouillon and them other soca taking over.
02:57Trinidad Killer says he is grateful for the love shown to him in the US, especially with
03:04his food outlet and the only answer for the world is love.
03:08Yeah man, I had to say thanks man for everything and with all the father and the help of good
03:15friends and families, you know, I couldn't do it and I just want to give thanks and I
03:21just want to project love into the atmosphere to everyone who is looking at this interview
03:27this evening.
03:28I want to just project love and love is the only answer right now in this world we live
03:35in today.
