Kern Joseph also known as Trinidad Killa is tonight speaking out on the crime situation in the country and the need for more Soca music on the airwaves. He sat down with our reporter Elizabeth  in a music studio in Brooklyn, New York. Here's one of her two-part report.

00:00Our interview with Trinidad killer comes on the heels of his recent single Trini

00:06nice again where he spoke frontally on the crime situation in this country. This

00:12is something that we was cooking up a while now because I look at the crime

00:17situation in Trinidad and to be one I see it ridiculous and no artists

00:22generally looking to use the platform to try to be a voice at the youths the

00:28future generation of tomorrow everybody only study in the same one rag and flag

00:33and this and fly here when you look at the social media but I want to use my

00:38voice as a positive voice from the ghetto Trinidad killer said it's

00:45necessary for the youth to be provided with more opportunities and see like if

00:52I could talk to the future generation because right now the crime situation

00:56is very ridiculous. What do you think the government or the authorities at large

01:00need to do to treat with this situation? Create more opportunities for the youth

01:06because right now is having more opportunities you know Trinidad and

01:12Tobago are some of the most talented people you know who can play football

01:17who can play cricket who can play football who can sing musicians but it

01:22really have no facilities to accommodate them. The entertainer told

01:27the TV6 News that he and his team have been working on the song Trini Nice

01:32again since May and Tobago was not left out of the lyrics he said it is time for

01:38us to come together as a nation. How long did it take you to put everything

01:44together in terms of the words? Well you know in the studio it's real work

01:52Pronto will come with the melodies, sing the melodies then after we will sit down

01:58we will work as a team put lyrics together you know mesh it together it

02:02this project is since May we doing this project and it are real musicians work

02:11on this project musicians from Dominica 18 band you understand Pronto it take

02:18real time for me to put together this projects Trinidad Tobago let me tell you

02:23this now are you bad Tobago let we stop the fight now time to come together let

02:29we go drink a beer now ain't you is your brother's keeper hmm everybody rungs up

02:34time for we to link up don't fret to put your hands up Trinidad I fed up see we

02:40fight up time to take it right up despite all the fight on fly the flag
