Liverpool facing some tough tests in upcoming weeks

A look ahead to LFC’s fixtures.

00:00Yeah, Chelsea, Arsenal and Villa before the next international break. Now, these are games

00:06where, you know, we've discussed Liverpool's fixtures so far haven't really been massive

00:12tests. Arnie Schloss even said it as well, included Man United in that bracket as well,

00:16which is probably quite relevant in their situation. But Chelsea are flying, Arsenal

00:21are clearly, you know, going for the title again. Aston Villa have been fantastic as

00:26well with their sort of admission into the Champions League. They're still handling that

00:29really well. How do you sort of see these games going? Are they sort of, you know, a

00:33real chance for Liverpool to see where they are under Arnie Schloss?

00:37Yeah, I think it'll be a real ass test of Liverpool's ambitions this season because,

00:43you know, Arnie Schloss has caveated all this early praise that him and his side have received

00:50that they haven't played any real top teams yet. And top teams meaning in the top half

00:56of the table, you know, Ipswich, Brentford, got beat by Forrester Court, Bournemouth,

01:03Wolves, Palace. As you said, the toughest one on paper was Man United and where are

01:09they? 14th in the table and that's a real difficult start to the campaign. But yeah,

01:15it's a difficult run of fixtures now. You've got to say for Liverpool, starting against

01:20Chelsea, I think they've surprised a lot of people under Enzo Maresca. They've really

01:25clicked together quicker than many people might have predicted and carried on from

01:31that way. At the end of the season, under Maurizio Pochettino, Leipzig in the Champions

01:36League, that'll be difficult. And then you say go to Arsenal, a real test of Liverpool's

01:43title credentials potentially. Can they break down that Arsenal side? Can they keep out

01:48the Arsenal set pieces? You're looking at Brighton, it's a difficult game, it's a double

01:53header with them in the Carabao Cup as well by Leverkusen. It's going to be a lot around

01:58that game because of the Xabi Alonso factor. Not only is he coming back to Anfield but

02:03he was a manager who could have been in the Anfield dugout had he not opted to stay in

02:11Germany. And then I should say Aston Villa is a big game again for Liverpool because

02:17they're in outstanding outfits under Unai Emery and seeing that game at Villa Park towards

02:24the end of last season, they caused Liverpool real problems. So it's a difficult run. Definitely

02:33Arnold Slotts will have been looking at this and thinking this is when I will learn the

02:39most about my players. If Liverpool get through this period, they're still up there, hanging

02:48on Man City's coattails maybe in terms of a Premier League title challenge, then supporters

02:53will be looking at them and thinking why can't we go all the way?
