00:00Hello and festive greetings once again from the Met Office. Bank holiday Monday is shaping

00:06up to be a drier day for northern areas. There will be further rain in the south, but for

00:11all of us it will feel a little bit milder. Now that milder feel is because that front

00:17across northern England on Boxing Day evening is finally going to push that cold air off

00:21to the north, leaving us with mild air and further fronts as well as low pressure as

00:26we head into the new week. But for now we do still have that front lying across Scotland

00:32and northern England through Boxing Day evening bringing further outbreaks of hill snow and

00:37rain too. Elsewhere a fairly dry night but cloudy and milder than recent nights with

00:44just a touch of frost in the far north. By the morning though we'll see further heavy

00:49rain arrive in parts of the southwest and through Monday morning that band of rain is

00:54going to push north and east to cover much of Wales, southern and central England. Further

01:00north of that though much drier and some sunshine breaking out throughout the afternoon, feeling

01:06much more pleasant in that sunshine with lighter winds as well. But the mildest temperature

01:10is still in the southwest with highs of 12 degrees. But further heavy rain will affect

01:17the south coast throughout Monday evening with slightly damper conditions spreading

01:21further north too. In the run up to New Year we'll see exceptionally mild temperatures

01:26across the UK though it will be windy at times and further rain is expected. There's plenty
