00:00So, it may be international weekend but there's still plenty of Premier League news to get
00:05your teeth sort of dug into and of course the main one is that Manchester City case
00:11against Premier League, the arbitration against associated party transactions and the whole
00:17world of legal issues surrounding that case. Of course the ruling came out on Monday, both
00:23Manchester City and the Premier League claimed victories from that ruling and it's hard to
00:27really know which one is more true to life. I think a lot of the opinions from experts
00:34seem to suggest that the Premier League haven't fully won, Manchester City haven't fully won
00:38and the gap somewhere in the middle is where the ruling will be. Of course for Newcastle
00:42United, they'll be taking a keen eye on what that means, what changes are made and how
00:46they can use that to their benefit in the future. Of course, Newcastle have really been
00:51hampered by the rules since the takeover of the club. We've seen PSR become a more
00:57prominent thing and the penalties for breaching PSR becoming a real prominent thing. So obviously
01:03that has stifled their ability to spend on transfers. We all know the best way they can
01:09do, navigate PSR is to increase revenues but of course if they can't increase that commercial
01:15wise because of associated party transactions or they're limited in that way then that then
01:20limits what they can do there and then it falls back on ticket prices and whatnot. So
01:24there's a variety of things Newcastle United will be taking a particular interest in and
01:28of course the story might have broken Monday but it's far from over and I think there'll
01:31be numerous twists and turns of this story, not just in the next few days or weeks but
01:36probably months and of course you've got that Man City 115 charges coming in the future.
01:40But that was the one big news story of the week and what's dominated the international
01:44break so far. The other one just around Newcastle is Fatino Liveramento has been belatedly
01:48called up to the England squad. He missed out initially with just Anthony Gordon and
01:52Nick Pope being called up by Lee Carsey from Newcastle United certainly. But injuries,
01:56Fatino Liveramento has been included in that squad along with Curtis Jones. It'll be interesting
02:00if he does make his international debut. He was called up the last squad, didn't feature
02:04in any of them games and of course still has eligibility to play for a couple of nations.
02:08So England will be really keen to get him tied down to England, his future to England.
02:14And Lee Carsey, as much as he didn't include him in this squad initially, he did include
02:19him last time it was mentioned. So he's clearly a big fan of Liveramento and it's clearly
02:22how high England value him. The Tees being the first one, as soon as there was an injury
02:26crisis he was the first one brought back into it. Of course they've lost Kieran Trippier
02:29this summer because he's retired from international football. Kyle Walker has started to fold
02:34down the pecking order. Trent Alexander-Arnold is in there and has had a renewed prominence
02:40under Carsey. But again, his future at England has always been a bit hit and miss. So Liveramento
02:46hopefully can have a real good say in how he can force himself into the squad on a regular
02:52basis because we've seen that Nick Gasol, he's a really good player. He's acted as deputy
02:57very well for Trippier. And yeah, it'll be interesting if he can make his debut when
03:02England play Greece and Finland this week. But of course, Nick Gasol and I don't return
03:06action until a week on Saturday when they host Brighton. And then we're hoping to bear
03:10their result against Everton. Despite an improved performance against Everton, of course, the
03:15results just wasn't there, or the three points wasn't there. So we're hoping to improve on
03:18that next Saturday. But between now and then, of course, the best way you can stay up to
03:22date with all the latest Newcastle United news and everything surrounding the club is
03:26with the Shields Gazette.
