00:00So this is a game I found on the side quest called Deal or Not by CyberMonk and it's free.
00:20It was launched the 1st of September 2024, so it's still kind of newish.
00:27I've been crying out for game shows to come to Meta VR for over a year now as I think they can do so well.
00:34So in case you're not familiar with Deal or No Deal, the idea is at the start you will pick a briefcase from 26 cases and this one you will keep.
00:45And in each of those briefcases there is an amount of money ranging from 1 cent up to 1 million dollars.
00:53Hopefully the case you picked has a million dollars.
00:57You will then take 4 turns to pick a case and hopefully pick out and eliminate the lower amounts of money.
01:04Then the banker will call you on the telephone and offer you an amount of money based on what amounts of money are left on the board.
01:12He wants to prevent you from taking as much money as possible, so then it's up to you if you deal or no deal.
01:20If you no deal, then you pick another set amount of cases and then the banker will call you again and offer you another figure.
01:28If you make it down to the last 2 cases, you are then given an option if you want to keep the case you originally picked or if you want to swap your case with the remaining case.
01:39Hopefully you win that million.
01:42There's no multiplayer or even pass-through in this, not that it needs them.
01:47I think this is a solo only player game really, though it might be cool to have leaderboards for most amount of times a million has been won or something.
01:57Game menus. There isn't much in the way of menu share apart from if you want to use fake money or real money.
02:04And guys, never use real money.
02:07But there's no options for graphic settings or audio settings as yet.
02:12Levels and size. The studio it's set in is pretty large. It looks good.
02:18You have even got an audience behind you and a television crew.
02:22There's a line of women with briefcases down each side of you, though I think this should be a mixture of men and women.
02:29And variation would be nice like hair lengths, clothes, height.
02:33Even if they spoke a quick line to you to wish you luck, maybe have 300 phrases randomised.
02:40It could all do with improving, but it's not terrible.
02:43Controls. Controls are very simple and basic as they should be.
02:49No need to overcomplicate anything here.
02:52Mechanics. Mechanics are pretty decent.
02:56The case is open, the telephone rings.
02:59I'd like to see more movement in the people with cases and especially the host.
03:04I feel the audience also could look real, not what's kind of there now.
03:09And also because there's not really much else going on.
03:13My thoughts. I'm glad someone is attempting to make a game show and I hope it's still being developed.
03:20I really want to encourage you all to download this and try it and hopefully it will help the creator
03:26and also show other developers that there is an audience for game shows on the Quest.
03:31I hope they take off this fake money or real money option.
03:35I'm not a fan of games that ask for more money, especially with young ones who can easily fall into bad gambling habits.
03:42Now, I know this game is free and it just recently launched.
03:47And whilst the bones of this games are here, there are many improvements that can be made.
03:52Many which I've already mentioned, but I feel the colours clash quite a bit in this game.
03:57So hopefully that gets addressed.
04:00It would be good if there could be some sort of unlocking and collectible system in this game.
04:05I think most games need this so the gamer will want to keep coming back to the game.
04:11Like for every amount of money you win, it all gets collected and totaled up.
04:16Once you hit million, you get a collectible.
04:18Then maybe once you hit three million, you win another collectible and so on.
04:22Or maybe unlock funny hosts.
04:25A businesswoman host, or a tramp host, or even a chicken host.
04:29There also has to be more variation in the people holding the cases.
04:33And more animation in them, including the host and the audience.
04:37This is a great start for a game show based game.
04:40And I hope to see many more arriving in the future.
04:44Things maybe like The Cube, Wipeout, Strike It Lucky, Family Feuds, Bullseye.
04:49There are so many.
04:51Though with question-based shows, I think they would need to be done by country.
04:57As an American isn't going to know much about the UK and vice versa.
05:02But anyway, this is free.
05:05So download it and give it a go.
05:07So as it is, I mark Deal or Not a 7.4 stars.
05:13Now please hit that like button as a way of support.
