Solo travel and dining is on the rise

According to Google searches, solo dining and travel is on the up - would you ever consider going it alone whether it be dining, travelling or something else or would you feel self conscious solo?

00:00I have thought of it and then I think, oh no, I'm really thinking of it.

00:07My daughter keeps saying to me, go on a holiday.

00:10I think I'd rather be somebody else.

00:13Tell me why?

00:15I'd be a bit afraid on my own.

00:18She and us are hanging around, isn't it?

00:21No, we wouldn't.

00:23I don't think I could go by myself.

00:25But we do see a lot of people now.

00:28Do you ever go for dinner or lunch or anything by yourself?

00:31Are you more than happy to sit and have a meal by yourself?

00:33Yeah, I'd go by myself, I don't mind.

00:36I feel uncomfortable just sitting there on my own,

00:38thinking everybody's going to be looking at me,

00:40or look at her, poor thing, sitting on her own.

00:42And she's got nobody to sit with.

00:44I'd eat alone, yeah.

00:46If you're hungry you go and eat at least anyway.

00:48I feel uncomfortable because,

00:50the reason I feel uncomfortable,

00:52I feel uncomfortable for them.

00:54Because they're sitting on their own.

00:56Sometimes you feel like sitting on your own,

00:58pull a chair up and sit in it with those.
