00:00A common theme throughout the survey questions was really this idea of self-care. So in the
00:08case of travel, people looking to explore new places perhaps without the burden of having
00:14to coordinate with other people. And for dining, actually sometimes people just wanting a bit
00:19of a break from socialising from time to time.
00:24Self-care seems to be a common trope in solo dining and travel, with 54% of people saying
00:29solo travel means they can explore new places on their own terms and in their own time.
00:35In fact, 44% of people said they enjoy the fact that they don't have to align their plans
00:40with someone else.
00:42And then in the case of a destination like Berlin, it's very affordable for dining as
00:47well. The average cost of a meal is perhaps cheaper than you might find in the UK. So
00:53I think it's a combination of things based on where they are, cost of travel, cost of
00:59dining. Yeah, it can be a bit daunting if you're looking to travel or indeed dine by
01:04yourself for the first time. Our advice would really be to plan ahead. Not only does it
01:11help to have a bit of a comfort if you know where you're staying for the night, or perhaps
01:16you've got a breakfast booked the next morning, but that's also the way that you're getting
01:20the best deals. Find out what's going on at the destination that you're planning to visit,
01:24which can be a really nice way to meet people if there are perhaps some cultural events
01:30or festivals going on. So yeah, do your research and plan ahead would be our advice.
01:36Berlin, along with Paris and Dublin, for those three particularly, they're all fairly easy
01:43to get to from the UK. So the travel time is a couple of hours max. And I think if perhaps
01:51you're venturing for a solo travel for the first time, and that also keeps the travel
01:57costs down.
