00:00The Philippines rose to 53rd place in the 2024 Global Innovation Index or GII.

00:07The National Economic and Development Authority, or NEDA, announced that the Philippines jumped from 56th place in 2023

00:15in the list of 133 countries.

00:18It is even higher than the 54th rank that was targeted by the Philippine Development Plan 2023 to 2028.

00:25According to Secretary-General Arsenio Balisacan,

00:28this proves the Philippines' commitment to the use of innovation

00:33and to strengthen our competitiveness in the domestic and global market.

00:37In addition, the government continues to pay attention to innovation

00:41as the primary driver of economic development.

00:45Meanwhile, the country rose to 73rd place in the Digital Governance Index.

00:51The Philippines jumped 16th place in the E-Government Development Index.
