00:00Employers should play a more proactive role in helping their staff adapt to technological
00:06changes at the workplace.
00:09Amy Dufresne, the head of two US-based human resources institutes, said this, pointing
00:13out that research by professional services firm Deloitte found that 76% of employees
00:18wanted to be involved in the changes their jobs will experience in line with the latest
00:22technological advancements.
00:25However, the HR Certification Institute and HR Standards Institute CEO said only 43% of
00:31organisations were helping to reimagine the future work of their team's jobs.
00:36Dufresne said workers were eager for the chance to rethink their roles and as employers, it
00:41was important to involve them in that process.
00:44She said there had been reports of growing concerns about artificial intelligence potentially
00:48taking over jobs, and it should be an employer's goal to alleviate those fears.
00:53Dufresne said actively working with employees in this manner would keep them engaged at
00:57the workplace and help them move into their zone of genius.
01:01She described this as a mental state where employees can produce quality work by using
01:05their strengths and focusing on tasks that are uniquely suited to them.
