I have to have you say it on, on air, uh, how, you know, honestly, they have screwed
00:09
up so many great rivalries in college football.
00:12
And I mean, just endless.
00:13
I can start with, uh, the Canes and Notre Dame, you know, they might play them once
00:17
every 10 years now.
00:18
And that's pathetic.
00:19
Michigan, Notre Dame, pathetic.
00:20
And I'm not just talking about, uh, Notre Dame here, uh, Pitt, Penn state, they screwed
00:25
that up.
00:26
Uh, they have, you know, I'm surprised that they even have the red river anymore.
00:32
I really, I know they both went to, uh, you know, the sec, but you'd figure they'd screw
00:37
that up too.
00:38
They screwed up the big 12 when it was the big eight, they screwed it up.
00:42
And then, you know, I just think they've done a bad job with what fans live for in college
00:47
football are those moments, those games, those rivalries, like the backyard brawl this year
00:53
was fantastic.
00:54
Absolutely.
00:55
Absolutely.
00:57
So it's the big difference, uh, historically between the NFL and college football, college
01:01
football, because there's 136 teams and you play within your conference, mostly it's a
01:06
regional sport.
01:07
I didn't pay attention to the West coast that much in a lot of times, or sometimes even
01:11
to the big 10.
01:12
But when you had these big games, Miami and Notre Dame, you know, or Michigan and Notre
01:17
Dame or Southern Cal and Notre Dame, or, uh, or even Texas and Oklahoma, these games meant
01:22
something to everybody in the country.
01:24
When you watch TV, people that weren't even interested in those two teams knew these were
01:28
the big games that represent college football.
01:31
And I've always wanted the great teams to bleep, to play well, not bad.
01:35
You know, when Miami had that bad street going, it didn't help college football, it hurt college
01:39
football when they're tops, like they are right now is if they can hang on and they're
01:43
playing teams like, like a Notre Dame, when they can, that enhances college football.
01:49
It makes it more attractive to everybody in the country.
