People of London: Is giving Gen Z teachers ‘lie-ins’ a good idea?

We ask Londoners whether they think new plans to attract younger teachers by letting them start later two times a week is a good idea.

00:05to encourage teachers as in to try and encourage new teachers to start up it's specifically designed

00:11to try and attract young teachers yeah but essentially the idea is i mean my wife is a

00:16teacher and the early starts are tough especially you know we've got two young children so uh her

00:23having to leave before we can do any of like the school run is it's quite difficult so yeah you

00:28know it would it could help with that kind of thing and you know anything that improves anyone's

00:33work-life balance is never a bad thing i think anything we can do in this country that to

00:39improve that it's always a step in the right direction if that is what the schools are

00:46offering and obviously that's a great opportunity and school teachers work particularly hard i have

00:51a sister and a mum that have worked in primary education for a long time so i know it's tough

00:56and if that is something that this area is offering then great and good luck to them
