00:00Having kids in London, there are many pros and cons.
00:02Getting just really, really expensive for families to live in.
00:05We have lots of them. We've got four each and it's great.
00:08I think you would need a decent amount of money.
00:10I mean, there's so much to do, so many clubs, so many activities.
00:14There's loads of places to take them. They love it.
00:16They're always going to places and enjoying it. It's great.
00:18And when they get older, they can get around by themselves because there's public transport.
00:22If you're lucky to live on a street with lots of other families with children,
00:26there's a great sense of community.
00:27So I'm a part-time nanny as well as a florist.
00:30It's interesting being around children because they're in private schools.
00:35They're very lovely schools, but I know they cost a lot of money.
00:39And with the economy, how it is at the moment,
00:42it's actually really hard to put your children through private education now, I think.
00:48I imagine because London's so busy and so expensive,
00:51I imagine it is quite difficult to bring up kids here.
00:54We live in West London, in Chiswick, but we certainly know that we wouldn't be able to afford here,
01:01afford to buy a house, let alone starting a family, even though we would love to.
01:06And also, there's just the pace of life's just so fast.
01:09So I think if I, in the future, if I was to have children,
01:13I probably would want to settle out of London where things are a bit cheaper, things are a bit quieter.
01:20So we're sort of thinking about moving further out of London, really,
01:24in order to be able to live that chapter of our lives, which we really want to do.
01:28I think the idea of moving out of London to put children into education and raise in there
01:36is just more of a cost-effective way.
