‘I visited London’s so-called coolest neighbourhood’

We head to Leyton, recently dubbed the coolest neighbourhood in London by Time Out.

00:00hello I am in Leighton a place that was recently dubbed by timeout as the

00:05coolest place in London and the 24th coolest place in the world now when I

00:11first got here I have to admit as you come out onto the high street it

00:14definitely doesn't strike you as the coolest place in London and to be honest

00:18I'm not sure it is but it does have character earlier on I went to check out

00:23Chico's chicken which genuinely was one of the best bits of fried chicken I've

00:27had in London but as I was walking around Leighton I was thinking to

00:31myself this can't be the coolest place in the capital however there are some

00:36incredibly cool high streets and back roads and I found out just how cool they

00:40were by speaking to some locals from Leighton it's nice to have something

00:44like that happen on your doorstep so yeah I mean it's a great place there's

00:48lots of good things about it yeah it's lots of diversity in terms of types of

00:53shops and environment I've lived here for nine years and it is a really

01:00vibrant multicultural environment and neighborhood with loads of stuff going

01:04on I think the community feel it has in a big city is what lends itself to being

01:10really friendly and warm and I think it's for that reason that we as a

01:14family with young children have wanted to stay here and why other lots of

01:18families choose to move here because it's got a really lovely community feel

01:22about it in a very big bustling city obviously it depends what your

01:26definition of cool is Leighton and Leighton Stone's got various parts to it

01:31you would have got out at the high road which is vibrant and fun and busy with

01:36lots going on but that's one part which got its has it has its pluses but in

01:41this part where you're you're currently filming this is Francis Road which has

01:45been nicknamed the village of Leighton which is very different but has a lot to

01:49offer in a different way and that's quite a nice feel to it with more boutique

01:54individual stores and delis and and shops that a lot of people in the

01:58community really enjoy
