00:17west of the city, singling out parcels of land near Kirkstall Road and Armley among

00:22the areas for potential redevelopment. It comes as Labour have committed to building

00:261.5 million homes over the next five years which could see planning system reform in

00:31order to reach that target. Rachel Reeves identified Kirkstall Forge as a particular

00:36area which could see new homes, with the priority for the government around house building being

00:41to ensure that some of the projects that have been around for a while do get lift off. Although

00:45the Chancellor reiterated that the approach to house building would be brownfield first,

00:50areas in the grey belt could be considered, which are areas designated as greenbelt land

00:55that are unattractive or of low quality.
