00:00There it is. There you go.
00:03Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're diving into the top 10 creepiest and most revolting things
00:09the self-proclaimed bio-exorcist Beetlejuice ever did.
00:12We'll be including his grotesque transformations,
00:15his unsettling antics and crude behaviors towards other characters.
00:19Spoilers ahead.
00:20You bunch of losers!
00:23You're working with a professional here!
00:27Number 10. Chewing a fly.
00:29Beetlejuice.
00:30Right after we learn about the trickster demon's bad reputation from caseworker Juno,
00:34we see it for ourselves in the Zagnut scene.
00:37Trapped in the model of the town, his prison,
00:40BJ spots a fly hovering over the graveyard section.
00:44Hey, you. Hey, come here.
00:47With a sweet, beckoning voice and a chocolate bar as bait,
00:50Beetlejuice lures the fly to come closer.
00:52I got something good for you. Come on.
00:54In mere seconds, he grabs the insect through a crack and we hear a cry for help.
01:04Gross, right?
01:05We'll assume that the squeaky cry was the fly being devoured by Beetlejuice.
01:09The fact that he prefers a helpless fly over a crunchy candy bar
01:13is a clear indication that this titular miscreant is downright nasty.
01:18Number 9. A leprechaun growing on BJ's back.
01:21Pat on the back.
01:22The animated version of the ghoulish troublemaker
01:25might be a toned-down version of the character, but he's still a sleazeball.
01:29I call it my hair apparent.
01:35Hairdy hair hair, Beetlejuice.
01:38In the first season, Beetlejuice claims he deserves a pat on the back,
01:42and a purple-hued Irish-accented creature literally pops out on his shoulder.
01:47And guess what? The little guy's name is Pat.
01:49Hi, I'm Pat, the little Pat on the back you've been wanting.
01:53What? Hey, get off my back, you freeloading freak.
01:57This pun-filled moment is classic Beetlejuice humor,
02:00and a big reason fans love the franchise.
02:02But let's be real, the idea of a living thing sprouting out on someone's body
02:06is an absolutely disturbing sight,
02:09even for someone as naturally unsettling as Beetlejuice.
02:12Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Nice try, lad, nice try!
02:22The wedding between the mischievous personality BJ and his unwilling bride,
02:26which nearly happened in the original film,
02:28almost comes true in the 2024 movie.
02:31I'm gonna make you so happy.
02:34After exposing Rory as a liar using truth serum,
02:37Beetlejuice takes over his place as Lydia's groom.
02:40Decked out in his original wedding suit with Lydia in her iconic red gown,
02:44history is about to repeat itself.
02:46As this bizarre ceremony ensues,
02:49everyone gets possessed by the ghost with the most
02:51and starts reciting the lyrics of MacArthur Park by Richard Harris.
02:58And to make things even weirder,
03:00out of a Beetlejuice-themed cake flows slimy green icing.
03:04Yuck.
03:05For any cake lover, this is a sickening sight.
03:09Why does everything about BJ have to be so gross?
03:20In the 15th episode of the animated series' fourth season,
03:23Lydia and Beets face a new challenge.
03:28BJ's sophisticated skeleton has had enough of his messy, smelly body
03:32and decides to run away to form a life of its own.
03:35I've always known I was too good to be Beetlejuice's skeleton.
03:39All I needed was a little encouragement.
03:44Now, it's up to Lydia and her ghostly friend to find it before the skeleton crew does.
03:48Come on, Beetlejuice, will you please stop whining?
03:52I can't help it, babes.
03:55I have no backbone.
03:59The moment when this snobby skeleton rips away from Beetlejuice is pretty graphic.
04:03But can we really blame the poor skeleton for making such a bold move?
04:08When was the last time this undead guy even had a bath?
04:11Disgusting or not, this episode is packed with so much fun and definitely worth revisiting.
04:16No bones about it.
04:27Beetlejuice is this weird and nasty guy,
04:30and nearly everything he does is like the direct opposite of normal or clean.
04:37So it's no surprise when he pulls out some truly
04:40unappealing food during his picnic with Lydia in the Neitherworld.
04:43For starters, there's corn on the slob.
04:47The main course is macaroni salad.
04:52And for dessert, strawberry snort cakes.
04:58Though she sounds like she appreciates his otherworldly cuisine,
05:01seeing him serve up grimy, rotten food that's clearly inedible is stomach churning.
05:08BJ calls them delicious treats,
05:11but they can only appeal to those with morbid tastes like his alienated teenage friend.
05:16This is exactly what you would expect from Beetlejuice,
05:19turning what should be a simple picnic into a freaky fest with his unappetizing menu.
05:38Adam and his ghostly wife probably knew they were making a huge mistake
05:41by enlisting the lecherous ghost,
05:43but they summoned him anyway and quickly learned their errors within seconds of meeting him.
05:51Throughout his limited screen time,
05:53the eponymous character was mostly this obnoxious pervert lifting skirts,
05:57forcing kisses, and groping girls.
06:00Barbara in particular suffers the most from his lewd acts.
06:03He constantly pesters her and grabs her when she least expects it.
06:07We're like peas in a pod, the three of us.
06:09Let's face it, you want somebody out of the house, I want to get somebody out of your house.
06:13It's no wonder the Maitlands couldn't keep up with his erratic behaviors and wanted him gone.
06:18Beetlejuice may be an iconic character,
06:20but if he were real, he'd likely be dragged to court more than a few times.
06:30With Beetlejuice's over-the-top antics that mix crude gestures with adult language,
06:34Tim Burton's classic isn't quite as family-friendly as you might remember.
06:42After Adam and Barbara vanish back to their home,
06:44a furious Beats kicks a tree over and drops the F-bomb.
06:48Then he makes a honking sound while grabbing his crotch.
06:54Something tells us that's not the first time he's done that.
06:57And as if that weren't enough,
06:59Beetlejuice even visits what looks like a strip club at some point to find some action.
07:03There are no two ways about it, BJ is a creepy creep.
07:14When we last saw the chaotic bug-eating ghost in the film,
07:17he was being devoured by a sandworm.
07:19Fast forward to the animated series, which feels like an alternate universe,
07:23and the morbid creature is summoned again by Lydia.
07:26He bursts onto the screen with green foul-smelling gas coming from his mouth
07:30and flashes a grin full of bugs.
07:33What a way to make an entrance, a pretty disturbing one.
07:44Beetlejuice's obsession with bugs continues.
07:47Even in the original movie, he chomps down on a live bug in front of Lydia.
07:52It's on brand, but still totally gross.
07:55Even worse, in one episode, he picks bugs from leftover chicken and chews them.
08:04Honestly, we don't blame the chicken for haunting him.
08:25You hear about this kind of thing, but you never expect it to happen to you,
08:28know what I mean?
08:34This is the height of BJ's lecherous behavior.
08:37Towards the end of Burton's hit horror comedy,
08:40Otho unintentionally performs an exorcism that causes the Maitlands to decay.
08:44Horrified, their human friend turns to the self-proclaimed bio-exorcist for help.
08:49Seizing the opportunity, Beetlejuice manipulates this young lady into marrying him,
08:54an ancient ghost.
09:08This shows just how twisted and perverted BJ truly is,
09:12with no regard for the fact that Lydia is both mortal and, well, a teenager.
09:16And, if you think this is horrible,
09:22the original script had even worse plans for Lydia and Beetlejuice.
09:26Regardless, there's no justification for his outrageous behaviors.
09:30Charismatic or not, this crude demon is simply a creepy old guy.

09:51Number 1. Transforming into a Snake
09:54Beetlejuice is a snake that has been transformed into a snake.
09:57It's a snake that has been transformed into a snake.
10:01Number 1. Transforming into a Snake
10:04Beetlejuice
10:05Remember the famous scene where BJ morphs into a giant snake to scare the Dietzes?
10:13In case you somehow don't, it happens after Otho stumbles on the miniature town,
10:18thinking it'd be a great business opportunity.
10:20But things go south when the Reality Warper,
10:23now a large, slithering creature, lashes out at Otho and the Dietzes,
10:27causing them serious harm.
10:30This moment shows that BJ's menace knows no bounds.
10:37One minute he's this mischievous ghost, and the next, a vicious serpent.
10:42Is he still the zany ghoul he started as?
10:48Well, it's impressive when you realize this snake was a stop-motion creation
10:52designed to look like Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice.
10:54But even so, it is still downright terrifying and disturbing.
10:59Is Beetlejuice a creepy demon or the playful character he's popularly known as?
