People of London: Should university fees go up even more?

As many as 141 universities have asked the government to increase fees in orders to get more funding.

00:00I was very lucky because 35 years ago I got, as a mature student, I got a grant.

00:11I mean, even then it was difficult to live on what you had to live on. You had to supplement it.

00:17All I can say is that, this is 35 years since then, you know.

00:24I mean, I was dead lucky, I suppose, I got my degree, but it's like the whole of life these days is more and more difficult.

00:34I think it's getting ridiculous now because kids are getting so much debt before they even leave.

00:40And then they don't make the money back when they leave because they're coming out of colleges and universities.

00:44I've got all these degrees but I can't get a job. So, no, I think it's ridiculous.

00:48We live in a society that's given up belief in human values and they're replaced by a belief in money.
