00:10During his latest weekly podcast, the Cuban president explained that his government has
00:14faced a challenging school year beginning due to the material shortages caused by the
00:19US economic blockade.
00:20Díaz-Canel stressed that this year the education sector is committed to rising the quality
00:25of the education system by promoting the innovation, transformation and improvement of the education
00:30system.
00:31More than 1.6 million students have been welcomed into this new school term that has begun in
00:38Cuba this Monday, September the 16th.
00:46I believe that this is a challenging course because of everything we are doing to raise
00:49the quality of our education.
00:52In this year, very important processes begin for general education, processes associated
00:57with innovation, transformation and improvement.
01:04We will prioritize and promote innovation and knowledge as a tool, as one of the only
01:08resources that cannot be blocked, which is intelligence enriched by study, improvement
01:13and the processes of our education.
