00:08Greetings President. Cuban universities also amid this context have had to transform to be
00:13able to complete the school year. There were students also in relation to the topic also
00:21to conclude what is the semester. My question is if from the leadership of the country this
00:29issue has been spoken about and what is planned to do about it is something that has been very
00:36present in these days in social media. I go again to the causes of the issue. Impact of the energy
00:45blockade on our education system both in general education and in university education as well.
00:56How does a school center a university will work with blackout without fuel for the transportation
01:02of professors and students with deficits of food without being able to deploy all the potentialities
01:13that our education system provides. All that impacts, all this is impacted by the energy
01:23blockade. So what are we going to do? Surrender, stop the school year, not give alternative,
01:28not give solution. Well I believe that in a very creative way both the education minister
01:33and the ministry of higher education took a group of measures when Prime Minister Marrero called on the
01:44government to a group of actions to face in a first month all the limitations that we were going to
01:50have due to the deficit of fuel and we had to redirect the design, the school year, the school
01:57curriculum both in general education and in higher education. In the case of higher education there
02:05was a variant that it was both press that was from school, from home and it already exists.
02:20The thing is that we must turn it to a communal sector, to a communal scenario and we must link
02:26this with the workers. Also we must link this also to work from the communities in terms of education and
02:32we
02:33must also work on how we insert students in the community, how do we continue the school from the
02:39community. It's not only the role of the students and the sacrifice and efforts of the students but it also
02:44have to do with professors, with teachers because also because then teachers have to go to that
02:51community. They have to deal in a more direct manner with those students so relations teacher-student
03:01relationship is transformed which is not the same in a school room which is in the community
03:09or which are the spaces that are put at this at the disposition in the communities for students and in
03:17that sense we have to work. We have been a month in that situation. Things have not gone out correctly.
03:25There are places that where it has worked better and there are places where there's been
03:29in doubts. There's not been enough attention. It has not been efficient and it has triggered concerns
03:37on teachers, students and in families, on Cuban families in the aspect of the teachers and students.
03:46And what has been done? Discuss, assess, dialogue,
03:54attend to dissatisfactions, hear proposals because we are listening to proposals that both students
03:59and professors are making as well as proposals are being made from families. We must to find what can
04:07be done in each community because all communities are not the same in every municipality to be able to
04:12support this process of reorganization and in virtue of that the education ministry and the higher education ministry
04:21have updated the measures the actions that are being led by the government of the country and next week
04:29to provide more details next week to have more details in terms of organization on this transformation
04:36and everything that has been proposed to rectify coming from the debate that has existed
04:46the education ministry and the education the higher education ministry will specify this in the coming
04:52week next week and i want to emphasize something more so important as a day today march 13 what represents
05:02for the cuban student movement in that date amid the dictatorship rule supporting the movement of 26th of july
05:12and standing next to the cause of the cuban people and heroically the university federation of students
05:21did that i think that to confirm this in this moment means that for the cuban revolution in a process
05:30of
05:31socialist construction education and higher education are priorities and we are going to continue to
05:37maintain it as a priority and these are moments
05:42temporal moments that are imposed by the energy blockade but as soon as there are conditions to
05:49overcome the situation we return to the classroom we return to develop the processes with all the education
05:55the education experience that is a reference for the world our education system and higher education system
06:04you
