00:02On August 13th, the Fidel Castro Ruz Center,

00:04the institution that is dedicated to shaping values,

00:08spreading thoughts and studying the work of the Cuban leader,

00:11became the epicenter of activities for the 99th anniversary of his birth,

00:17these activities in the Cuban capital.

00:19Our correspondent in Havana, Fabiola López, was there and tells us more.

00:22This is how the Fidel Castro Ruz Center awoke on August 13th.

00:33The celebration of the first 100 years with Fidel is just beginning,

00:37and children are the stars of the day.

00:39It is a different day, and it could not be any other way.

00:42Today is Fidel's birthday.

00:52This is a bust presented to Fidel by Chinese President Xi Jinping in July 2014,

01:03but Fidel did not feel comfortable with it.

01:05However, he upset it as a sign of friendship with the Chinese people.

01:09He didn't feel comfortable with it because he didn't want any status or bust in his name

01:15or with his face on them.

01:22They say that Fidel once said that while his enemies were talking about his post-Castro era,

01:31he was working towards that moment.

01:32The truth is that almost 10 years after his death,

01:35that is how Cuban children see and feel it.

01:39His personality, his culture, his culture, he is good, he is kind.

01:46And I am talking about him in present because even though he is dead to us, he never died.

01:56Even if you don't believe it, Fidel is always by our side teaching us,

01:59and we are learning things about him.

02:01Even though he is no longer alive, he is morally in the hearts of all of the children.

02:15by Fidel's favorite children's theater company, La Colmenita.

02:27The thing I admire the most about him is his work, his thought,

02:31and that he was a great man.

02:32On August 13, on this island, the man who changed the destiny of this part of the planet was born.
