00:00On the 107th birth anniversary of his namesake's father and former president of the Republic,

00:06President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. headed back to his roots and hometown to spread government's love and care

00:12to his former constituents as we hear more from Kenneth Pechente.

00:19Various services were brought by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to the people of Ilocos Norte

00:24alongside the commemoration of the 107th birth anniversary of his father.

00:28The late Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr., the president, led the distribution of agricultural, fishery,

00:33and veterinary interventions to the farmers, fishermen, and livestock raisers of Ilocos Norte.

00:38This included machinery, seedlings, fertilizers, fuel subsidies,

00:42as well as solar-powered irrigation systems for farmers' associations.

00:46The interventions given by the DA and the provincial government of Ilocos Norte

00:50summed up to a total of P157.95 million pesos.

00:58It has been a very difficult time.

01:00For six months, we have not seen any rain.

01:03We have suffered a lot, we have suffered a lot of damage.

01:07That is why our farmers and fishermen need a lot of help.

01:16The chief executive further added this aid will pave the way for the recovery of farmers' and fishermen' livelihood.

01:22He stressed this payback serves as a recognition of their contributions to ensuring the country's food security,

01:27which he asserts is a significant factor in economic growth.

01:30All of us in the government are working together to provide assistance to our farmers and fishermen.

01:39We are also giving the opportunity to others to start their sidelines so that when there is a lot of production,

01:48we can learn how to process.

01:52The chief executive also led the distribution of assistance under the Kapos Ang Kita Program or AKAP

01:57for District 1 of Ilocos Norte, where 7,000 indigents received P5,000 each.

02:03I will use this for business, fishball, ikan, and so on.

02:09This is a big help for us, because we are poor.

02:13This is for our daily expenses, for buying rice and vegetables.

02:17In total, P35 million was distributed to the qualified beneficiaries.

02:22Another set of AKAP aid was distributed by the President in Lawag City,

02:27where 9,000 beneficiaries in the District 2 lined up to receive the aid.

02:30The President also spearheaded the distribution of patient transport vehicles to 69 LGUs in Region 1,

02:3612 units for Ilocos Norte, 17 for Ilocos Sur, 8 for La Union, and 32 for Pangasinan.

02:43PCSO General Manager Mel Robles said,

02:45these ambulances are a big help to all LGU beneficiaries,

02:49with improved and faster delivery of medical services to their constituents.
