00:00Malacan Young has declared today, Tuesday, September the 3rd, as a national day of mourning

00:05and solemn observance of the passage of one national artist, Federico Caballero.

00:11In releasing Proclamation No. 678, the President cited the country's immeasurable loss with

00:17the demise of a national treasure whose incalculable contributions to the preservation and enrichment

00:23of Philippine culture have kept the rich folklore and oral traditions of the Sugidano tribe

00:29in Panay, Bukidnon intact.

00:31To salute and honor his memory, flags in all government offices at home and abroad shall

00:37be raised to half-mast.

00:39Caballero was inducted to the country's Pantheon of National Artists in 2000.
