Police officers searched woodland near Khasha Smith's Calder Grove home in Edinburgh on Wednesday, September 4, nearly 11 months on from when the 35-year-old mother of three was last seen.

00:00Detectives investigating the disappearance of an Edinburgh mum have launched another search near her home in the city today.

00:06Police and special search advisers were on the scene outside Cassia's home at Calder Grove today, Wednesday, September the 4th.

00:13The search has been undertaken as part of the ongoing inquiry to locate the 35-year-old mother of three.

00:20Detective Chief Inspector Bob Williamson was on the scene to speak to press.

00:26This area is part of an ongoing investigation. We have searched it before, you're right.

00:30But we review our work that we've done and we consider all possibilities and that's why we're back again here today.

00:37And do you think that the fact that two months passed before she was reported missing has hindered your investigation in any way?

00:42So I'm not going to go into the details of the investigation.

00:46We're working our hardest in relation to all the information we've got

00:50and we'll continue to do so to find the answers as to where Cassia is and get answers for Nicola and Callum.

00:56And is there anything to suggest that Cassia was vulnerable or likely to leave the city at the time she went missing?

01:02So Cassia's personal life is part of the investigation.

01:05We're looking at all aspects of Cassia's life and it's not something we're going to talk about just now.

01:09And finally, do you believe you'll find her?

01:11That is exactly what we're working to do.

01:13We're trying to find her. We'll do everything we can and we'll keep doing everything we can to find her.

01:18Floral tributes remain outside Cassia Smith's home in Calder Grove in the West of Hales area of the city.

01:24The 35-year-old was last seen to be safe and well during a FaceTime call with a friend on October 10, 2023.

01:31Almost a year on, police continue to follow up several lines of inquiry and are working hard to find answers for Cassia's family.
