00:00It's football season. It's the home stretch of the Major League Baseball regular season
00:10as well, but do not forget about the W WNBA home stretch with the playoffs on the horizon
00:16continues. We've got less than 10 games remaining in the 40 game regular season in the WNBA. So
00:23let's look at where the odds are at this moment. The New York Liberty still the best team in the
00:29league with a short price now in front of the Aces plus 125. And Donnie that's the story because
00:38the Aces were the favorites entering this year. The two-time reigning WNBA champs. Even after we
00:45got back from the long All-Star and Olympic break, the Aces and Liberty were co-favorites at plus 155.
00:52Now New York well in front. And they should be at this point now, right? Now granted the best
00:56player in the WNBA does reside on the Las Vegas Aces and that's going to go a long way to
01:01determining who's going to win the championship. But if we're just looking at the regular season
01:05and who's having the better regular season and deserving to be the favorite, it's the Liberty 27
01:09and 6 on the season 8 and 2 in their last 10 games. They have been the most consistent team
01:15from start to finish during the season and it was only a matter of time before they overtook the
01:18Aces and quite frankly, maybe they wouldn't but the Aces at 20 and 12 now six games back technically
01:24here in the lost column of the Liberty. There's no way you can make the Aces still the leaders
01:29here. Now granted as I said playoffs are coming up things do change but it's got to be the Liberty.
01:33There's a better team. Sure and I would agree with that. There's no doubt about it. New York 27 wins
01:40but the Aces one of five teams right now that have clinched a playoff spot as well. Only one team has
01:46more than 25 wins 25 or more and it is the Liberty. The Aces got off to a slow start following the
01:53Olympic break. They were one in three but now they've won three of their last four including
01:58on Sunday against Phoenix in which Asia, Asia Wilson scored 41 points and had 17 boards. It was
02:04her second time in about a six-day span where she put up 40 plus. I still think the Aces are going
02:10to be there at the end of the road but the biggest movement we have seen DRS on Kaitlyn Clark in the
02:17Indiana Fever. Now a 19 to 1 price. It is sixth best around the W. 23 to 1 before the season
02:25got underway. On Sunday Indiana a big victory now 17 and 16 this season snapping a WNBA record
02:36of 189 games in a row of playing with a losing record. Indiana above 500 for the first time in
02:44a long time. Yeah paying off top draft picks playing good basketball for your team who would
02:49have thought that by the way getting that rest and not actually going to the Olympics was big
02:54for the fever. It's now sitting winners of four straight games eight and two in their last ten as
02:58you pointed out now over 500 in command of a playoff spot and it feels like this is one of
03:04those teams that if you're at the top of the standings you think you're better Liberty,
03:07Sun, Lynx. Yes you do but you don't really want to mess around with the fever because there's one
03:12person that can get cooking behind that arc that's Kaitlyn Clark. You want to watch out for
03:16that but I'm impressed by the fever playing in front of packed castles on a night-to-night basis
03:20and playing their best basketball late in the season. Love to see that. Absolutely so. So the
03:27fever one of six teams above 500 again last year in the 12 team WNBA league with eight of them
03:33making the postseason. Only four just half had a winning record. It looks like six will have
03:39that now. By the way the fever have won four straight six of seven since the all-star break
03:44and Kaitlyn Clark 31 points against fellow rookie and the Chicago Sky on Friday that being Angel
03:50Reese. The odds off the board do not listen to anybody that says the rookie of the year battle
03:54is still outstanding. Kaitlyn Clark has won the award. She had 28 points in 12 dimes against the
04:00Dallas Wings on Sunday. She has the third best price to win the WNBA MVP award although Asia
04:06Wilson a hefty favorite to get that done and rightfully so. A playoff preview tonight out in
04:13Connecticut. The Seattle Storm taking on the Connecticut Sun. A four and a half point spread
04:18in favor of the Sun. Connecticut second best record in the WNBA at 24 and 8. Yeah I do. I'm
04:25gonna go with the Sun in this one. Home court advantage is a big deal. Minus four and a half
04:28you figure if they're up late in that game salted away for the couple free throws but you're right
04:32the Sun 24 and 8 taking on the Storm 19 and 13. Should be a good one here but I'll lean towards
04:36the Sun at home in Connecticut. A couple of point props to pay attention to Dijonay Carter at or
04:43Carrington excuse me over 12 and a half would be an area I look. The other games on this Tuesday
04:49night slate again the Aces rounding into form. They take on Chicago tonight in Las Vegas. Bad
04:56taste in Vegas's mouth I would guess because it was the final game before the all-star break as
05:01a double-digit favorite Chicago came in there and won outright. The Mercury now a game below 500
05:07trying to get back on track against the Atlanta Dream who are tied with Chicago for an 11 and 21
05:14record battling for that eighth and final spot. The Mystics and the Wings round out the slate tonight.
