00:00Let's get to the WNBA.
00:01How about this question up here on Polymarket?
00:03New WNBA CBA agreement buy with a question mark.
00:07March 31st, trading at 50% right now.
00:10June 30th chance, 39% for me.
00:14I don't think they start on time.
00:16So I doubt that we're going to get one from March 31st,
00:18but there is news and notes that WNBA players are having spirited,
00:22interesting meetings on whether or not they can get a deal done, Joe.
00:25Where are we going?
00:26Where is the investment in the WNBA CBA for you?
00:29Well, you know, I mean, part of me feels like we're never getting a deal done here.
00:34But also, you know, keep in mind, I mean, you've got, from the owner's perspective here,
00:40you've got a situation where I don't think it makes any sense for them
00:44not to capitalize from a monetary perspective on getting something done sooner rather than later, Donnie.
00:51Why? Because you've got TV ratings through the roof.
00:54You've got, there's money and revenue to be made for the owners for the first time here.
00:58So are they willing to throw that all out to the window?
01:02Because you and I both know if the season doesn't start in time,
01:06out of sight, out of mind, that's a PR nightmare.
01:08And all of that goodwill and money that could have been made is out the window.
01:13So I get why people are thinking that it's probably a 50-50 shot.
01:19But I tend to agree with it because I think for the owners, if they plan on making any money,
01:25now is the time that you better hurry up and get this thing done by March 31st.
01:29Yeah, I take a look at June 30th, Joe.
01:31About $4,000 in volume right now placed on this on-poly market to the yes.
01:35It's a 39% chance, but it's trading at 69%.
01:38But again, also, at the same time, $100 investment here is only going to pay back $113.
01:43I do think they'll miss some time.
01:45But as Joe points out, all that momentum you would just give up if you wipe out the entire season.
01:48Then you write about, is the WNBA ever coming back at this point?
01:51Which brings us up to the next question, Joe.
01:53On Couchy here, how many games will be played in the pro women's basketball season this year?
01:58At least 100% at 63% chance.
02:01I don't think that happens here.
02:0390%, 75%, 50% are all down there, Joe.
02:06For me, though, I do think they miss some time.
02:09I would be shocked if they start the season on time and play every single game, Joe.
02:14I would.
02:15The problem is, and that's where I would look, Donnie.
02:18The problem is, I think, if you lose games, and right now the market is pricing roughly 25% to
02:2430% as a chance of a lockout cutting into the regular season.
02:28But we know, I mean, the owners are not stupid.
02:31You've got an unprecedented ticket sales in your back pocket, national TV slots, mainstream momentum.
02:39Anything that stands in a way between starting this season and playing every game is money out of their pocket
02:46here.
02:46So, you know, if you think there's a good chance, Donnie, that they can get this deal done by March
02:5331st, I'd invest in the 100% to get that.
02:57They're going to play every game.
02:58They're going to get it done before it's all.
03:00They're not going to miss any time because missing time means losing money to the owners.
03:06Maybe a back to the future segment here, Joe, when this all gets down here to see if Joe Ranere
03:10was right and or wrong and out of market here.
03:12If you think they're going to play at least 50% of the games, which I think should be a
03:15benchmark for them, $100 investment pays back $125.
03:19They can't wipe out the entire season and maybe just a sprint to the finish.
03:23They'll play games.
03:23The matter of it, though, how many games will they actually play?
