00:04I like Oklahoma overall.
00:05I like them today as well.
00:06And with Jason DeCaro, who's their ace, pitching on the mound.
00:09And give Oklahoma a lot of credit.
00:11What they've done, where they ended the regular season,
00:13they've powered the way through Omaha with, you know,
00:1625% of their season home runs have occurred in the postseason
00:19where they've won eight straight.
00:21At the end of the day, I'm always going to side
00:23with better pitching over better hitting.
00:26And North Carolina has the eighth best pitching staff
00:28in the entire country overall.
00:30They're all top to bottom in ERA.
00:31They have two really good aces in Jason DeCaro and Ryan Lynch.
00:34And they got Caden Glover out of the bullpen.
00:36And they're 28 now when he pitches, either starters or in relief.
00:40Oklahoma has been hot.
00:41They also have three freshman pitchers on the mound.
00:44And that's not what the design was.
00:45That's how bad their staff was before that.
00:47So if Oklahoma stays hot, they can win.
00:50But I think the good pitching will take care of it.
00:52And I'm going to have North Carolina winning.
00:54So educate us all on this tournament here,
00:57because I've always said this about the NCAA basketball tournament.

01:04depending where you are in a bracket, your region, who you play against.
01:09I think it's the hottest team that ends up winning the national championship
01:13in college basketball.
01:15Is that the case here?

01:18Do you think the two best teams are playing for the national championship right now?
01:22Or were these guys just the hottest teams?
01:25It's going to sound like a cop-out, but right now with college baseball, it's both.
01:29North Carolina, top 10 team all year, you know, right there in the ACC with the Georgia Tech,
01:36and they finished number five in the country, and they went right through it,
01:38and now they're in the big dance.
01:40And Oklahoma, the hottest team.
01:42So you have both of each side, Dan, because Oklahoma was an afterthought,
01:4611th seed in the SEC, losing the first round of the SEC tournament to 14th seed LSU.
01:51Didn't think anything of it.
01:52They were 150-1 to win the national title, while North Carolina was 22.
01:55So you're getting the best of both sides.
01:58I've seen it work both ways.
01:59I've seen a four seed in the college, in the bracket,
02:03which is equivalent to a 13-16 in the tournament,
02:06win the national title in Fresno State.
02:08They got hot.
02:10But I've also seen the best teams in the country do well as well.
02:13You know, the college sports landscape is being dominated right now
02:18by the Big Ten and the Southeastern Conference.
02:21You know, you have now a team that used to be in the Big 12,
02:24is now in the SEC, obviously Oklahoma.
02:27You have an ACC team here with North Carolina.
02:31SEC and Big Ten, I mean, like I said, I get SEC has Oklahoma in it right now,
02:36but they're new to the party.
02:39Those programs from those conferences, I mean,
02:41are you surprised we're not seeing more of those teams in the college baseball
02:45lookout right now when it comes to your better programs in the country?
02:49Well, I mean, the SEC largely dominated not only the season,
02:53but also the tournament.
02:55I mean, they got, I think they had five teams out of the final eight.
02:58They were guaranteed, I believe this is the seventh straight year
03:00with an SEC team in the finals.
03:02You've seen SEC versus SEC.
03:04The surprising thing to me is on the ACC side,
03:07because we've all seen ACC programs like Florida State, North Carolina,
03:11the good, good programs, Georgia Tech, they have two national titles.
03:16That's it, two.
03:17Wake Forest in 1955 and Virginia in 2016.
03:21That's it.
03:22You would think of all these ACC programs, now Miami, they have not done well,
03:27and, you know, the Big Ten, it's kind of a little new
03:29since the weather's different up there.
03:31Well, you know, I know that you have two loves here.
03:34You have Gator and Cain's love.
03:36This is as long as those no guys don't win a national title, I'm all good.
03:40Just keep them out of the mix and let it all for us,
03:43and we're ready to rock, right?

03:50And Florida played Miami in the regionals,
03:53and my parents were visiting from Miami.
03:54So just picture that couch over there, mom sitting there, me sitting there,
