00:14Lawmakers lauded President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for securing Mary Jane Veloso's return.

00:21Senate President Francis Escudero thanked the president as well as other officials

00:25who continue to engage and negotiate with the Indonesian government.

00:28House Speaker Martin Romualdo said the impending return of Veloso is a triumph of hope,

00:34diplomacy, and justice. He commended the president for his resolute leadership and

00:39compassionate heart that resulted in the impending return of Veloso.

00:42Senator Rafi Tulfo said,

00:44The unrelenting and persistent efforts of the Philippine government to plead for Veloso's

00:50release has bore fruit, with the president leading the way to continue engagement with

00:55the Indonesian government for a fair and just decision on Veloso's case.

01:00Tulfo thanked the president for his unwavering commitment to protecting Arpa Bayans abroad.

01:05Senate President Pro-Temporary Gingoy Estrada said,

01:08Mary Jane is a victim of circumstance, having been deceived by unscrupulous individuals.

01:14Estrada believes her situation highlights the urgent need to provide sufficient protection

01:19to the country's overseas workers. He also urged the Department of Justice to consider

01:24her status as a victim of human trafficking and involvement in drug syndicates.

01:30Senator Joven Villanueva meanwhile called on the DFA and DMW to continue

01:34their diligent efforts and diplomatic initiatives in safeguarding the rights

01:38and well-being of Filipinos abroad.

01:40Senator Grace Po said,

01:42All Filipinos should be vigilant so no Filipino migrant workers falls

01:46victim again to yet another death sentence.
