00:00TV6 News caught up with Tutor Tobago Officer Braden Roberts as he visited a
00:05number of schools across Tobago. We spoke with him following his visit at the
00:10Roxborough Anglican School. At the Roxborough Anglican School a section of
00:15the ceiling was compromised with some concrete portions that broke off
00:20remaining on the floor. While at the Roxborough Secondary School some classes
00:25were without desks and the chairs. Students resorted to placing their
00:30book bags on the floor.
00:55In addition some teachers reported to schools over the weekend to assist with
01:49Some of the schools visited by Tutor Tobago Officer Braden Roberts
01:57included St. Andrews Anglican, Scarborough Methodist, Hope Anglican, Roxborough
02:04Secondary, Belle Garden Anglican, Roxborough Anglican and Roxborough
02:08Secondary Schools.
02:19However Tutor was pleased with the acceleration of work conducted at the
02:32Belle Garden Anglican School over the weekend. This comes despite some oil
02:37paint residue which stained the uniforms of some students.
02:49Because the state of the school now is far different to the state of the school it was just Friday gone.
02:55So they would have done the cleaning at the school, they would have removed some of the
02:59mesh, they would have filled up some of the furniture that was not so stable. It was too late they even sprayed
03:04for the termites which we would have raised. So I'm grateful that the
03:07division is listening. In terms of attendance there was an almost 100%
03:13attendance of teachers and 60 to 90% attendance of students at schools
03:20across Tobago. Elizabeth Williams TV6 News
