00:00There's so many incredible businesses that operate in the city centre, so creating mini-me's
00:04of those was such an exciting opportunity and something we just had to do for this year.
00:11Anyone's Tiny Tuning Association, which I'm in with Metro, was an idea which I developed
00:15a couple of years ago.
00:16I have a young boy and he loved the idea of soft plays, but ones which were really immersive,
00:21so going in and playing fire engines or going in and being a labourer, he loved the idea
00:25of it.
00:26I thought it would be such a fantastic idea to create something in Newcastle, but for
00:31the businesses of Newcastle.
00:32A whole new world of fun has arrived at Old Elgin Square with Anyone's Tiny Tune featuring
00:37mini versions of iconic Newcastle landmarks for children to play in.
00:41Designed and built by local businesses, boutique events and MCW Design, it's an interactive
00:47play space that includes pint-sized versions of the Tyne Bridge, Tyne and Wear Metro, Elgin
00:52Square and the Theatre Royal.
00:54They also have mini restaurants like My Deli as well as a mini Granger Market.
00:59So with us being Anyone and the business improvement district company for the city centre, of course
01:05everything had to be Newcastle centred.
01:07So we approached a couple of businesses, you know, we're very lucky that we have this
01:11Tyne and Wear Metro system.
01:13We approached them straight away with a very initial concept idea and they absolutely loved it.
01:19The mini Metro train has been modelled after the new fleet coming to the network later
01:22this year, completed with authentic interior design and hi-vis vests for many workers.
01:28And each and every year we're getting more people involved business-wise, we're doing
01:32more activations than ever before.
01:34So this year we did kayaking on the Tyne, so activating the water for the very first
01:37Tyne.
01:38But we also had, at the weekend, we had Anyone's Dog on the Tyne, which was a quayside festival
01:44for dogs.
01:45We always look to grow it as well as working with city businesses to kind of give them
01:49a showcase as well for people that might not have heard of them.
01:52So lots of new things for this year.
01:54The mini Play Village is open every day throughout the school holidays, running until the 1st
01:58of September.
