00:00Aaron Runn, a player that has been involved in so many iconic moments during his six years at St James' Park.

00:05You only have to go back to last season when, of course, that PSG night.

00:11Aaron Runn becoming the first player since Alan Shearer to score in the Champions League,

00:16opening the scoring in that PSG game, of course.

00:19A player that has been involved in many, many iconic moments.

00:22PSG being the main one for me.

00:25Of course, he's had his purple patches in that Champions League qualification season when he scored,

00:31I think it was about six or seven goals between October and November.

00:37Unplayable at the time.

00:39And there was a big reason why Newcastle went on to get Champions League football that season.

00:43But I think maybe in the last 12 months, following down the pecking order at St James' Park,

00:49there was a chance for Aaron Runn to go to Saudi Arabia 12 months ago now.

00:54Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabaab, who we'll be mentioning again later on in this video.

00:58Like they say in a couple of Newcastle players, there's a chance for him to go.

01:02But yeah, a deal was on the table for him to go to Al-Shabaab, but the player himself knocked it back.

01:07The summer came along and there was their talk.

01:10A talk that was not at MLS club, Charlotte SC.

01:13Again, a deal couldn't be agreed financially with Newcastle.

01:16The player has stuck about, but by sticking about hasn't played much football at all.

01:20It's two Premier League starts since March.

01:23Not many at all this season.

01:25I'd say only one this season against Chelsea, where there's been a couple of starts in the cup.

01:29But Aaron Runn for being sort of central to Eddie Howe's plans during that Champions League qualification season

01:34and probably the first six months into the last season,

01:38following way down the pecking order.

01:40Jacob Murphy has established himself as the first choice right forward.

01:45And then even this season as well, we've seen Anthony Gordon trialled in that position.

01:50Harvey Barnes came off the bench and played down that side as well.

01:53He's been a player that's definitely been phased out by Eddie Howe.

01:57He's always maintained that he's an important member of the squad.

02:00I think his work ethic and behaviour behind the scenes can't be knocked.

02:05Eddie Howe has always spoken really, really highly of him.

02:08Just a really, really likeable player.

02:10Always got a smile on his face.

02:12Can't imagine him ever being destructive.

02:14Always gives his all, you can see that.

02:16Albeit he might lack quality at times, or has when he's castrated.

02:19He's always given his all, always worked hard.

02:21So I think on that one, when Mike Alan Runn does eventually leave,

02:24he will go with everyone's blessing.

02:28Everyone should look back fondly on Alan Runn's time at Newcastle.
