00:00So we're here in Shrewsbury, Bicton Heath, and getting ready for the Steam Vintage Rally this weekend.
00:06How are you mate, what's your name?
00:08I'm William, thank you very much, a very good thank you.
00:10Cool, and it's your Uncle Eddie that organises it, so you help out down here?
00:14Yes, yes I do.
00:15How long have you been helping out, ever since you was a nipper?
00:17Ever since I was tiny, yes.
00:19Oh fantastic. So you've got a love for the steam engine.
00:21Oh yes, definitely.
00:23This one's rather special isn't it we're in, it's a Sentinel I believe?
00:26Yes, a Sentinel.
00:27And it's got a special birthday this year, just fill us in.
00:30Well, it's 100 years old, which means it was built in 1924.
00:34And it worked on the docks of Liverpool, but it was built in Shrewsbury.
00:40And the building was actually built by myself and my brother-in-law.
00:45So I'm asking myself about this one, because it's quite interesting to see what they use.
00:51What other intentional purpose have been back in the day?
00:54They're hauling trailers around the docks, so anything that's been unloaded from ships or boats,
00:59could be hauled all over the country.
01:01So it could have been Liverpool or any of the big docks you could see there?
01:04Liverpool or anywhere around there.
01:05And do you know how many bits of kit, trucks and so on Sentinel made roughly?
01:10Well they made everything, but they've made about 10,000 pieces all over.
01:14Wow, and how many of these are still in existence, this particular one?
01:18There's still about 150 dotted around all over the world.
01:22All over the country, all over the different countries, yeah.
01:24So they'd have gone over there in their working life as well?
01:27In their working life and some in preservation.
01:29Yeah, fantastic.
01:30And she's a gorgeous thing.
01:33I mean, there's a bit to her up top, isn't there?
01:35It's not like the regular dashes that we used to see.
01:39So which is your favourite then?
01:41How does she compare to kind of, you know, on your list of favourites?
01:44Oh wow, you can't have favourites, but she's pretty nice.
01:47She is, and we say she, she's called Maggie May.
01:50Maggie May, yeah.
01:51So you're looking forward to the weekend?
01:53Oh yes, very much.
01:54Okay, still cool. Thank you, young man.
