00:11quoted by state media agency Interfax Tuesday. The spokesperson warned that Ukraine is actively
00:16using dating apps to gather information. They also said the enemy is identifying IP address
00:22ranges in our territories, remotely accessing unprotected security cameras, monitoring everything
00:27from private yards to strategic roads and highways. Russia isn't the only country with this sort of
00:32concern. CNN reported last year on the Western Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance warning that
00:37Russian hackers could access Ukrainian soldiers' mobile devices. But Business Insider points out
00:42that discouraging dating apps is a problematic move for Russia given the decline in its population
00:47since the early 90s. According to an Atlantic Council report from this month, the United
00:51Nations projects that Russia could have 25 to 50 percent fewer people by 2100. Since last year,
00:58Russians have had to rely on domestically developed dating apps as Western platforms
01:02like Tinder exited the country over human rights concerns.
